The next time someone wonders what's up with CBS News, tell them to look at what their legal analyst Jan Crawford says when she forgets that she shouldn't be publicly all-in on MAGA:

We're not doing the General Strike where I live, so to support the people of Minneapolis today I made a contribution to Mastodon-for-Minneapolis (https://www.grapevine.org/giving-circle/doWhZ3Z/Mastodon-for-Minneapolis).
If you're looking for a way to show your support today you could throw a few bucks their way.
[It's run by the same person (@heidilifeldman) who did Mastodon4Harris, so you can trust it!]
If your reaction is "WTF????", you can check here :https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tube_tester (the section titled "Self Service"), or look at these beauties: https://vintagestoredisplay.info/2018/01/vintage-sylvania-electronic-tube-tester-self-service-lighted-store-display/
I'm reaching the age where people don't believe that the things I vaguely remember from my childhood ever existed.
Please reply if you have ever seen one of these in real life:
Student attendance at WiCSE sessions has tripled in the past year.
And we all know how important supporting students with tutoring and mentoring can be to helping them get through college and succeed in their careers.
Any help you can provide to these future women engineers is much appreciated.
(And boosts are appreciated too 😃)

CSUF is part of the Cal State University system - less famous that the UC system, serving a different purpose/community.
CSU schools provide education to returning students, and under-served students. CSUF helps lots of students from minority communities, many "first to college" in their families.
The CSU system is being hit with budget cuts, and has eliminated all tutors in ECS. Your contributions will help WiCSE meet that need.
It's that time of year again. Pumpkin spice latte time? No. Well, yes, but it's also time to ......
Support the next generation of women in technology!

If that's enough for you I'll just drop the donation link here, but read on if you want more details...
Some observations from today's Boston #NoKings gathering:
- Dude with a scrawled "Stephen Miller is a Bitch!" placard.
- Guy with a "This is really John Roberts' Fault" sign.
- Woman whose sign referenced 1773, not 1776. When asked about it she said that's when the Tea Party took place, and that she had to look it up to be sure.
- Woman whose sign was about the nature of democracy, that had a small footnote at the bottom attributing it to John Locke.
I love my Boston nerds and bros.

There's nothing better than a clear example:
Are your news sources prefacing the latest Trump outage with "In an attempt to distract from the Epstein scandal...."?
If the answer is "no", unsubscribe, and stop reading them.

Well, that was fun!
I was reviewing my total Harris/Walz contributions, and saw that I had room to make a nice sized one that would bring me up to a nice round total - and make sure that the campaign can go full strength all the way through to November 6th.
Of course I'm donating through #MastodonForHarris ( https://secure.actblue.com/donate/mastodon-for-harris), and it looks like I got to push us over the latest goal!
Oh, the dopamine.
Oh, yeah, also, Boosts Appreciated! 🙏

- Full disclosure: A relative of mine helps run the program. I don't see any conflict of interest issues, but it's better to be up-front about everything
- There's a place for comments on the donation form. If you'd like to, put something about "Came here from Mastodon" there. If I can find out. I'll report back on how we did via #CSUFWICSE. Follow that if you're interested.
- Oh, right - the fund-drive goes 'til Nov 1st, so act now!

CSU schools provide education to returning students, and students who didn't have all the opportunities or advantages. Due to location, CSUF helps lots of students from minority communities, many "first to college" in their families.

Okay, my Senator (Warren) just got the stage, so what better time to send a few more dollars to VPHarris (via #MastodonForHarris , of course)?
Hope I hit one of the contribution matching offers, and that we get a big "dollars contributed on nomination night" number!
I have received an update on the upcoming D'Ancey LaGuarde collection, and am slightly embarrassed by how excited it has made me.
Also, I feel like there should an Extended Bugleverse community on Mastodon, so I am going to throw out some hashtags in hopes of either finding it or creating it.
