Rust 1.98.1 has been released.
This release fixes a possible miscompilation in vtable generation. Under certain circumstances, Rust 1.98.0 incorrectly puts a null pointer where a function pointer should be.
See the blog post for details: https://blog.rust-lang.org/2026/09/03/Rust-1.98.1/

For more than a decade, farmers have been fighting for the right to fix the machines they own. Now, the FTC settlement with John Deere marks a massive win! Deere must give farmers and independent repair shops access to the same repair software, manuals, and repair capabilities it provides to authorized dealers.
This is what Right to Repair looks like when it moves from principle to enforcement. The work is not over, but this is a big step. Learn more at the link below.

@ricci just wanted to share that this interaction https://bsky.app/profile/ricci.io/post/3moogiusrnk2e is a breath of fresh air in the internet of 2026. A civilized technical discussion with both parties seamlessly attempting to understand each other's points before drawing conclusions. thank you for that. <3

I reported an insecure DKIM key to Deutsche Telekom / T-Systems. They first asked me to further explain things (not sure why 'Here's your DKIM private key' needs more explanation, but whatever...). Then they told me it's out of scope for their bugbounty.
I guess then there's really no reason not to tell you: They have a 384 bit RSA DKIM key configured at: dkim._domainkey.t-systems.nl
384 bit RSA is... how shall I put it? I think 512 bit is the lowest RSA key size that was ever really used. 384 bit RSA is crackable in a few hours on a modern PC (using cado-nfs). The private key is:

activitypub deserves better resources. i'm making them.
it only takes one person to spark a revolution ✨
coming soon. stay tuned.
Ghostty will now auto-generate a full, cohesive 256-color theme from just the base 16-color palette. This makes it significantly easier to make custom themes that are beautiful (just define 16 colors). See the demo below showing multiple themes fully generated.
Thanks to Jake Stewart who contributed this to Ghostty and made a nice write-up explaining the background and approach: https://gist.github.com/jake-stewart/0a8ea46159a7da2c808e5be2177e1783
