    @evacide In your opinion, are we doomed to a "have vs have-not" situation? That is, the "haves" are those technically capable of seizing control of their digital life and avoiding whatever they don't like, and the "have-nots" who can't do that, and who have to wait for solutions which non-technical people can apply?

    Or, I suppose, will we ever be able to give normal users their freedom back?

    @evacide
    My opinion with this is "to make it OPT-IN", NOT opt-out.

    Use anything stating "please use my / our work for training LLM" (regardless paid or unpaid) and having non-infecting licensing for training LLM.

    This way, anything the authors (potentially) DON'T want to be used for training LLM cannot be used with the purpose. And anything generated by resulting LLM cannot cause copyright violations (as it can be considered to be permitted by opt-in). And avoiding anything in infecting licence like GPL allows natural human users of LLMs to apply any license the natural human user want.

    And more, this policy allows use of LLMs without fearing future legal issues, regardless how international laws for LLM generated materials goes (which currently is unclear).

    @evacide I'm off everything except Google now. And within Google I'm off everything except that Gmail is tied to all my damn logins on the various sites and apps over the last 19 years. So, it's a tiresome process of going to each site and hand-changing my logins one by one. Been on this all year. My phone is a Mudita Kompakt now.
