Oct 24, 2026, 1:46 PM@fastfinge Thanks! This is something I'll be investigating shortly hopefully before the next round of war. I'm almost sure the next one will start soon either in a couple of days or in a week or 2.

🇨🇦Samuel Proulx🇨🇦fastfinge@interfree.caOct 24, 2026, 1:47 PM@amir Sigh. Probably. Trump needs a win during the midterms. Or at least a war to distract everyone.- Oct 24, 2026, 1:48 PM
@fastfinge He does need a win. But he must be overly stupid to get his hands wet in Iran for a second time before the midterms unless a surprise would be in order. This would be akin to suicide for him.
- 🇨🇦Samuel Proulx🇨🇦fastfinge@interfree.caOct 24, 2026, 1:50 PM@amir Not really. If he can provoke Iran or someone into launching an attack against the US, he gets to either cancel the midterms entirely, or use it as fuel for his right-wing base to get them focused on revenge.
- Oct 24, 2026, 1:54 PM
@fastfinge That's indeed a possibility. But the dictators here are smart enough not to give him the justification for an all-out war before the midterms.
- 🇨🇦Samuel Proulx🇨🇦fastfinge@interfree.caOct 24, 2026, 1:56 PM@amir Hopefully. I guess the ones still alive and in power have to be the smart ones; the stupid ones would have been killed already.
- Oct 24, 2026, 1:57 PM
@fastfinge Well, maybe the surviving ones now know how to hide under the proberbial rock more effectively. To me all of them, dead or alive, are a bunch of theocratic assholes. And sorry for the word.
- 🇨🇦Samuel Proulx🇨🇦fastfinge@interfree.caOct 24, 2026, 1:59 PM@amir I mean from the outside, I'm not sure who's worse: them or Trump. At least you can generally trust the Iranian dictators to do what they say they're going to do, and not to do moronic things just because they can. Doesn't make them good. But it might make them better, or at least more reliable, than Trump.
- Oct 24, 2026, 2:01 PM
@fastfinge LOL - Trump has set such a low standard that no one can be easily compared with him! But the ones in power here have brutally killed thousands of unarmed people. This is something most of us won't forget or forgive.
- 🇨🇦Samuel Proulx🇨🇦fastfinge@interfree.caOct 24, 2026, 2:02 PM@amir Whereas Trump just takes away the healthcare, the support, and the vaccines, and lets them get sick and starve in the streets. And he would absolutely do the same if he could; ICE and his detention camps are his first attempt at it.
- Oct 24, 2026, 2:07 PM
@fastfinge I'm speechless! Whatever you say is actually correct and to the point. After all, who can deny his anti-science and ICE-related gestures?
- 🇨🇦Samuel Proulx🇨🇦fastfinge@interfree.caOct 24, 2026, 2:08 PM@amir I guess in short I'm just glad I get to live in Canada. For however long it continues to exist, anyway. At least we're keeping Alberta.
- Oct 24, 2026, 2:11 PM
@fastfinge I'm sure Canada will survive the mad man's onslaught.
JoshuaJ3317@allovertheplace.caOct 24, 2026, 2:34 PM@amir @fastfinge I’m sure it will
- Tristantristan@hachyderm.ioOct 24, 2026, 2:09 PM
@fastfinge @amir Trump has killed millions through his mismanagement of COVID-19 and eradication of USAID, not even touching on ICE and all related crimes there. It’s astonishing that most serial killers are held more accountable than this man. People can’t conceptualize things that are not right in front of them.
- Oct 24, 2026, 2:10 PM
@tristan @fastfinge You can say that again.
- 🇨🇦Samuel Proulx🇨🇦fastfinge@interfree.caOct 24, 2026, 1:51 PM@amir I mean, in a campaign speech he came out and told Iran it would be okay if they bomb Sanfransisco or LA. He says he was joking, of course. But i think it was like "ha ha only serious".
- Oct 24, 2026, 1:55 PM
@fastfinge I heard that, and was really shocked! I thought maybe he was on drugs or something - LOL!
- 🇨🇦Samuel Proulx🇨🇦fastfinge@interfree.caOct 24, 2026, 1:56 PM@amir I wasn't particularly shocked. The way he keeps threatening war with Canada, of all places.
- Oct 24, 2026, 1:58 PM
@fastfinge Exactly. And the way he embraces Russia and its cruel dictator is abominable.
- Oct 24, 2026, 1:49 PM
@fastfinge Seriously I hope I can survive this would-be third round.
- 🇨🇦Samuel Proulx🇨🇦fastfinge@interfree.caOct 24, 2026, 1:51 PM@amir Good luck!
- Oct 24, 2026, 1:55 PM
@fastfinge Thanks! Guess I need it.
