@FreakyFwoof It was at a British Computer Society Challenge quiz for schools in Liverpool. We had enough budget to take extra people, so I tagged along despite not being on the team.
We ended up winning an Amstrad PCW8256.

@scruss Amazing. What a time to be alive.
@scruss Around the 19 20 minute mark he keeps saying a note is E when it's not. Doing my head in. perfect pitch can sometimes be a right bastard.
@FreakyFwoof that would be annoying.
I had a friend who had amusia (complete inability to identify/reproduce pitch and music) for a few years after a minor head injury. He'd been a professional musician. His pitch awareness came back, but it took a few recording sessions to be able to play with others again.
@scruss That legit scares me.
@FreakyFwoof it's extremely rare, and my friend has recovered fully.
At least (as far as I know) you don't live through the wall from a lovely family from the Philippines who ran the best neighbourhood karaoke parties despite the husband being utterly without sense of tone. Did he belt out a very rough approximation of "My Way" every Saturday night? You bet! He was having a great time. (We, less so.)
@scruss Hahah well at least he recovered and I hope, so did your ears.
