Okay, I got the two Tombow marker colors that look about right and a Micron brush pen. Here's a little test owl. I think it'll work. 🤞

Advice for anyone who wants to make art:

Make art.

I've been focused on paper quilling for a few days & new ideas for designs keep popping into my head. I close my eyes & see swirling paper.

This is what happens when I consistently do creative work. I go from having no ideas to having too many.

When I sit down & start working on something at random without knowing what I want to make or what it could look like, it gets my brain in gear, & THEN the ideas come. To make art, you gotta make art.

I forgot that I originally had not one, but *two* slightly different shades of tan in my digital originals. Tried watercolor last night. Inks and markers tonight.

Surprised to find that I like the water-based Tombow brush marker best. Hoping they have a lighter shade...

Whatever the specific elements of the composition, I was very concerned that the color scheme should have a dark, yet golden and summery quality to it. The little sketches represent my initial attempts at finding the right combination of colors to fit the mood I wanted. 5/7

The drawings got way more intricate and I think the designs were much stronger as I progressed through the deck, so I'm not sure if I want to start by replicating my original rough cards. (This Ace of Wands was the first digital one I did.)

Maybe I should jump to the halfway point and then come back and re-do these so they're more like the rest? I'm not sure!

Okay, I'm starting. I can't believe it's been almost four years since I drew the whole Tarot in Krita. I drew them low-res and it never made sense to get them printed as a deck. So I've pondered re-creating them in traditional media.

Anyway, I bought these inexpensive little watercolor pads over the summer and now that I feel warmed up from Inktober, I feel up to giving it a go! This is just a test to try out color, etc.

Vampire Rat
Just a quick silly thing for Halloween this year. My rat Red as a little vampiric being. Happy Halloween!

Things have been hectic this month with this little guy needing a lump removed and my pc breaking. He's ok, he's recovering well and back to causing chaos. And my partner is currently working on my pc and I’m able to use my laptop n the meantime. But I'll definitely be opening commissions when I'm able.

Here are all of my entries together :> Thanks for following along, it was fun!

They're not in order, because I didn't plan it well on paper(^^;) and that I had to relocate a few of the squares(✂️🪡 ) that were done on a separate page.

I'm thrilled to say that I'm caught up in time for the last couple of days! I _really_ enjoy #Gobtober / #Inktober but I'm also looking forward to working on some other stuff in November!

For #Day29 the prompts were #swamp and #tusk
