My 9yo daughter said she wants to make a game with me, where she makes the art and I code it.
I said ok, and tasked her with making a standing/idle pose for the main character.
She delivered and wow, this is usable, actually. I have mixed feelings about it knowing what the life of a game artist (or a gamedev in general!) is like🙃

Friends, I have been having a ton of really great ideas :)

The likely nail in the coffin came tonight when some half industry half professor person started talking shit on self taught people, after I mentioned I was, saying they don't really know anything, and should be gate kept.
What a gross pov.
You'd think a professor of all people would realize the importance of helping people succeed, not gate keeping, and realize that once you hit the end of the text book, we are all self taught, and have to share what we find.
I need a shower 🤮

Starting to feel gross about linkedin. Before I reconnected with more of my gamedev and graphics peeps on bluesky and slack, I went to linkedin for some of that connectivity.
It grosses me out though. Everyone there has an angle to appear to be what they aren't. There is so much bad info there about technical stuff, from people trying to get the appearance of expertise, without caring about actually achieving it.

In a crowded area my kids asked me what a panini was and I was trying to explain that is plural, and thinking back to my latin I incorrectly said the singular was paninus and my wife went red and told me to shut up.
