Thanks a billion, @davidrevoy for your excellent USB numeric pad customization guide (for working with tablets on Linux)!
Just tried it this very morning and it works like a charm!

Some searching leads to 'rembg', a python tool which pulls-in a tonne of models.
See: https://github.com/danielgatis/rembg (near bottom of readme)
Not at all sure how to vet those models on their ethics.
Whole quest feels hopeless.
Anyone know how image background removal by 'ai' works?
I'm wondering if it's full-on theft-gen-ai or if it's some lesser sin? Perhaps standard machine learning?
Asking because fam member uses #Canva a lot and she uses that background-removal all the time.
(It takes me hours to do the same thing that canva does in ten seconds. Very depressing.)
Any word of such tools in floss?
(ETA, I know about the various manual methods already.)

If you want a dotted line in #Inkscape that is an *actual* dotted line, and not dots that are rectangles, then this web-page I found is the best thing ever!

Thanks to the poster!
And viva #Inkscape
@crownengine Is it possible to "script" in Vala, or is it only Lua?
Also, is there a way to make plugins to extend the editor like Godot does?
So i found a trick by myself.
You drop small circles where you want to join to, snap the connector to the circle and the group the circle with the larger shape. (Not the connector tho just the target). The connectors seem not to mind that.
Do same for other end of connector.
Hth.
Love inkscape, but losing my mind trying to get the Connector tool to snap to edges of a shape rather than the centre. I suspect it might be impossible!
Other tools have multiple places around the edges (say of a circle) where a connector can snap to.
Any tricks?
😔
I am making some SVG for a website. I need the various tags to not use "style" so that I can rely on css instead.
But...
Inkscape seems determined to use "style=" in the output tags.
Is there a way to bend Inkscape to my will, or is there some plugin for web-related svg, or is there some other tool that's better for the job?
I'm not saying it's valid. I'm saying it's arresting.
Should it be?
WTF is that AI video network doing that somehow crafts a human-brain-grabbing series of images?
I have gazed upon the orgasm of technology and I will never come again.
Still love that fucking song.

"Boys with the characteristics of wolves" Unknown Mortal Orchestra..
The song is amazing. It's 500 out of 10.
The video.. complicates.
I loathe AI. I go out of my way to *not* keep-up. I block, I unfollow, I unsub.
This vid somehow reached me. It grabbed some perverted neurons within my soggy skull.

Is there a way to duplicate a text-on-path object such that the copy has the copied text bound to the copied path?
E.g. "Woot" on a circle. Select text and circle. Duplicate. Move aside. Edit copy. Change circle. Woot does not care. Shift d shows original circle is still the path being used.
Maybe we should change the wording: from "climate change" to "extinction horizon"
#Blender #Godot #Addon #Pipeline
Plugins for working between Blender and Godot.
Utils:
A. The Multimesh tagger in Blender.
B. The Name Hinter in Blender.
Are one extension here: https://codeberg.org/dbat/blender-godot-utils
C. The Godot plugin to import multimeshes tagged in A:

Forgive the messy code, docs and file chaos. It's not that hard to figure out. I am cleaning it up and will also post about it all.

Opinion. My first language is English. The West is disintegrating. English is imperiled.
What will reality look like without it?
Code? Comments? History? Science?
Can it all transition away without loss of clarity?
Does it matter?
Maybe it is time to leave it all behind.
The tongue of the wicked.
The tongue of capitalism.
The tongue of colonies.
What does it really stand for now?
#GodotEngine #Blender
Harsh opinion. Blender is faster and has a much better, responsive ui, than Godot.
Why?
They are both C++. They are both gpu whatever. Why is Blender so much better?
I wish Blender had an API ui thing so we can make better software based on it. I remember Blender "Apps" and mourn it. It should be a ui like QT or GTK.
What do you think?
(No offense to Godot. I am a fan.)
#MixBox #Color #GameDev #CCBYNC
Just saw Mixbox doing artist-color mixing rather than RGB. You know the good old days when blue + yellow == green! But in digital. Very neat.
Has a Godot 3 stable plugin too.
https://github.com/scrtwpns/mixbox/tree/master/godot
Their main repo looks untouched for two years. I hope this work does not die.
(Although cc-by-nc has limited use for commercial projects.)

#snowball
Northern peeps. Has anyone got a video of a snowball snowballing?
Like in the comics, you roll a snowball down a snowy hill and it grows larger.
Is this a myth?
Years ago I crafted two illustrated poems. They've been kicking-around but now they have a (not well styled) home on my codeberg pages site.

Compiling #inkscape on Linux. why? Hubris.
Least it's churning away!
