For those of you who enjoy small acts of kindness:

A few days ago, I went to a photographer to get new ID photos after starting my transition.

His job was simply to take the official pictures and send me on my way.

After taking the passport photos, he looked at me and asked:

“Are these your first photos as a woman?”

I smiled and said, “Yes.”

He paused for a moment and said:

“That’s not acceptable. You’re not allowed to smile in passport photos. It can’t be right that you don’t smile in the first photos of your new life.”

Then he asked me to look back into the camera and smile.

He took a few more portraits, printed three large photos for me, handed them to me, and said:

“These are your first photos as a woman. Take them. Consider these a gift”

I nearly cried.

Sometimes people don’t realize how much a small gesture can mean to someone else. 💜🏳️‍⚧️

I am both active in Chaos and LARP and I think Chaos Events could learn a lot from LARP.

Post-Order:
1. Bleed (Concept in LARP)
2-3. Ideas how to deal with it
4. Conclusion

In LARP there is a concept called Bleed. Bleed is when who your character was/is carries over into your own behaviour, thoughts and feelings.

A romantic relationsship in character, might also feel the same for you. If your character was sadistic, you might feel a bit more sadistic temporarily, even if you normally abhor such. Its different for everyone, if and how strong Bleed is.

It also describes often a certain feeling of emptiness and loss after being thown back into normalcy.

Chaos Events feel quite similar. We spend a few days completely indulging ourselves, being unhinged and free and then mundanity hits. No wonder Post Event Depression happens.

However, if both are somewhat similar, perhaps Chaos Should Learn from LARP.

I just want you to have a realistic idea of how the world works. You need to understand at least the general shape of how laws and courts work. You need to understand at least the general shape of how power and incentives work. You have to understand these things. You can't just rage at everything around you and demand impossible things of the world. You will just waste an enormous amount of time, energy, resources, and good will otherwise.

Maybe at another point in history you could just waste your time and get angry that impossible things didn't happen. We don't have time for that now. Stop making yourself a distraction
