It’s kind of interesting to read imo because these essays are so extremely badly written; just somehow trying to praise conservatism and “AI” in the most obsequious and convoluted ways

Yeah the essays are right-wing garbage. Honestly wondering what to do with it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah most of the essays are pseudo-intellectual garbage. On the upside the book is mostly spreads of pictures.

Don’t care about the weird “AI” essays in the book but the CPU die photos are fantastic

I'd love see an deep-dive technical explanation how LLMs "will soon self-replicate" to my toaster

(They can't, this is yet another doomerist PR stunt from the "AI" industry. "We can only prevent this if we get less regulation and more money!")

And like snappy without even a fan coming on and barely getting warm

Occasionally I’m back on an older Intel-based Mac and it strikes me really how much better the Apple Silicon machines are. Still amazes me. Even 2020/21 M1 machines feel super snappy still.

So (for me) that’s a great thing if they’re going back

As always, this Yandex datacentre thing is reminding me of my core principle: if something seems like it's confirming your views, but all the evidence you can find is a crusty JPEG and not anything authoritative, maybe the information is less actual than you thought it was and maybe don't spread it.

I’m reading the “here’s why I’m going back to Twitter” announcements as “here’s one less fartwaffle on my social media” ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
