Bob LeFridge :tinoflag:BobLefridge@mastodon.nzOct 11, 2026, 9:16 PMYandex has nine data centres in Russia. Ukraine has taken out three of them in just the past four days. And they could be doing the world a favour.
Because it's not just angry mums from Arkansas who have fallen silent. In Germany, views of the main AfD account have dropped 90% and engagement's down 60%. The party's apparent popularity is heavily boosted by smoke, mirrors and bots.
As a bonus, this could cripple Russian efforts to interfere in the US mid-term elections.
Three down... six to go.

It was from a Mastodon thread. Also mentioned on Reddit.
Oct 12, 2026, 5:19 AM@BobLefridge @thibaultmol @KiwiEV that graph in the original post has data from after when it was posted (has data from 15 October which hasn't happened yet). I doubt it is real.
Konstantin Goncharovdevstorm@toot.ioOct 12, 2026, 6:02 AM@thibaultmol @BobLefridge @KiwiEV No, there is no such evidence; unfortunately, like other platforms, Mastodon is becoming a breeding ground for fake news and speculation.

@devstorm @BobLefridge @KiwiEV calm down. The fediverse is doing quite well in that department, I'd say.
And unlike Twitter, we can actually edit a post and then it automatically sends a notification to everyone who has boosted it.
