New on the blog: How Firefox renders web components.

Specs say what should happen but I wanted to learn what a browser engine actually does. I followed a custom element through Gecko's source, from the registry to the reactions stack to the flattened tree Stylo styles.

Every step is a figure you can step through and replay. (I even animated the diagrams to help demonstrate the flow of data through the systems!)
