It's a good thing cringe is dead, because I'm a 44 year old woman who just discovered Tumblr and won't shut up about it

I haven't accomplished much in my life, but there are several people whose days are made better when they get to hang out with me, and perhaps that is enough.

Somebody on the internet: abbreviates "How to Train Your Dragon" as "httyd"

I volunteered to beta read a fanfic for a 17-year-old Deltarune writer

My commentary went to 12 pages in PDF, not counting back-and-forth chatter in Tumblr DMs. The story itself is 10 pages long.

Hopefully this is a positive experience and doesn't forever dissuade her from writing and/or seeking feedback 😅

It's Groundhog Day in Faerûn! Weren't we just here, at the entrance to the Grand Mausoleum?

Maybe we'll make it inside, today!

Nothing makes me wince quite like streamers and YouTubers trying to do bits on service workers and phone lines like you have melt downs if your chat tells you what items to equip but harassing some lady doing her job is a ok?

Have been pondering what to do with all the Deltarune thoughts rattling around my head, and I'm thinking a Let's Play style series of YouTube videos might work. It's a time commitment, but not as daunting as a scripted video essay.

I'm a lost cause for the vote scolders - nothing you can say or do will get me to vote for your bloodsoaked genocidal party. But trans people telling you they won't vote for transphobic Dems are doing you a favor and giving the party time to course correct. Yet they're offended that we even speak up. All the how dare you's just add insult to injury. It's so fucking dehumanizing.

Indulged in Reddit for a week or so. Could already feel the karma-grubbing mentality burrowing back into my brain. So, time to log out and leave it be for another several years.

Great review video of HyperRogue, developed by @zenorogue

It’s insanely creative and cool for how straightforward it is to play. One of my favorite traditional roguelikes to play on the steam deck and the only roguelike I own a cool t-shirt of 😎

Language shifting under my feet:
now is it not only awkward to refer to "villain's minions" as "goons"
but now I find myself reluctant to say that I "crack" a Clue or other sacrificial game object in Magic: the Gathering

I seriously need to stop doing this

I named this promo image "Baldur's Gate 3 2026", but I'm beginning to think we'll still be playing it by 2028!

Let's make some progress today, shall we?

oh ffs I do not need another fanfic idea rn

I dunno that realizing this will make me stop thinking that way, it's an old trained attitude, but it's gotta be a start, right...?

You know the feeling rebutted by the "two cakes" meme? Where something's not worth doing if you're not *the bestest* at it, getting discouraged if someone else is more skilled?

That's... not an innate human thing, is it.

It comes from being raised in a hypercompetitive society. You can't just play, you've gotta win. You can't just make art, your art has to sell, and to sell it has to outcompete. You can't just get the girl, you've gotta make sure nobody else gets to love her.

One of the things I have in common with my technology brethren is that I really got a lot of value from Soylent as a trivially simple ready to eat meal I could carry around with me. However, it's bad now, it's too thin and tastes like Huel which I despise.

Does anyone have recommendations for a meal replacement that tastes and feels more like 2024-2025 Soylent?

Finished crochet flower phone strap
I finally found a use for all that embroidery floss I have (forgotten friendship bracelet obsession..4the record, I don't think I evr gave one to a friend)

I liked making this, but I've kinda run out of phones to make them for so... xD

Naturally, this thing that I definitely did not do has meant I'm slow to get started on the day's stream. But stream I shall! We missed last week due to John being off on adventures, so it's time to get going again!
