In retrospect I think it's because they don't seem to know the difference between weights and training data.
LLM critics should at least know a bit about their enemy.
They could have just asked about which models I was talking about. I would love to see from which proprietary model they were derived from. But they blocked me because I would have shown them wrong.
Someone made some wild assertions about LLMs. I tried to dispute them without sounding like a LLM defender (and I outright said that they're harmful), but they blocked me anyway. Does anyone have a source for these claims? Did they block me because they know they're bullshitting me?

I've found a Blender file with my old fursona model, from Summer of 2011. It still works perfectly with Blender 2.79b (last version with the classic Blender internal render engine). The latest Blender also opens it with everything except for the materials.
I thought it was lost forever. What might be lost forever is some more recent versions that could draw the fur in real time (like the one in my profile picture).
I finally got around upgrading my postgres (mastodon database), and also I restored a backup directly instead of converting the database like in previous upgrades, which confirmed that restoring a full backup works, and that also freed like 10GB of disk space. I will probably have a few hours of out of order posts while my instance catches up.
Another day I will update mastodon itself or I will switch to glitch or something.

I just learned about Strawberry Music Player, which is Amarok 1.4 but up to date. After so many years, I have a favorite music player once again. I tried the latest Amarok for a day and it didn't convince me. And Clementine was buggy and abandoned.
Running on fumes. It has been "very little remaining" for way too long and it's taking its toll.
Despite developing a habit of explaining as unambiguously as possible due to these kinds of events, I was misinterpreted because I didn't express myself well enough. By "there's no need to find an alternative" I didn't mean that one should keep using the fascist honeypot, I meant that one should keep using one of the big providers. That's obviously a mistake on my part. But it is unfair that neurodivergent people need to make a much higher effort before they can get the benefit of the doubt.

I just got over emotionally exhausted executive dysfunction. Now I'm back at just the regular executive dysfunction.
A blind person wants to commission some furry art and the replies that send art examples don't have descriptions. I can understand one being lazy at doing something that only may benefit a small amount of people (although I do it anyway, because they matter too), but I can't understand not doing it when 100% of the target audience benefit from alt text.
Even when everything's right it still takes me a couple of hours of trying to work in order to actually work. I get distracted, etc. but I can't skip the issue by being distracted on purpose for a couple of hours and then trying to work: that time doesn't count and I still need to try (and fail) for a couple of hours after that.
My partners and I are excited about all of us having eye & face tracking as well as FBT in VR, particularly now that we're at a distance, but the funny thing is that we won't use any of that once we're together again and able to assemble them... Perhaps we will try wearing headsets in the same room with the virtual space synchronized.
