I’m trying to find a post that definitely exists (publicly) and the task seems impossible. I’ve searched for the user who posted it. Checked the hashtag. Even had a friend send me a link to the post. Nothing. Why is mastodon so hard?? @FediTips is there anything we can do?

Searching this up on the web (I’ve gotta try Kagi, perhaps) didn’t pull up clear results, either. Apparently there’s one in the vicinity of Newburyport?

Any greater Boston runners here? I'm curious to learn more about half marathons in the area - if you can recommend one. An unverified group reached out to me about a race (for training) but didn't link to any information about the event itself.

While this heat pump news doesn't address core issues, or even the most problematic sectors contributing to our climate crisis, I find it worth sharing nonetheless.

Newer models have been performing pretty well during the winter, and local government is trying out window units that are at least HALF as expensive compared to mini-split counterparts.

"It's still early days in the Boston Housing Authority's test run with the technology, but a pilot project in a New York City apartment building that launched in 2023 showed encouraging results. Apartments with window heat pumps maintained more consistent temperatures during the winter than those relying on the building's old gas-fired boiler system. They also used 86% less energy for heating, which cut resident’s winter heating bills in half."

Some good news as we face a major ecological crisis: the rusty-patched bumblebee was spotted after being gone for over 25 years.

Kalamazoo County, specifically, hadn’t seen this critter since the 1970s, but last summer an alumnus of K College found one laying in their driveway.

Conservation efforts (cutting back on terrible pesticides) may be allowing this species to come back from the brink of extinction 🐝

Okay, so the "Followed hashtags" list - Why is is there no apparent order to it? (Not alphabetical, not based on popularity....)

@FediTips I wonder if you happen to know. Is this a server setting?

Apologies to anyone looking for some cute, interesting, or cool photo (I could have left out a couple hashtags)

I can’t imagine their top motivator is generosity. They are doing this because a healthy, stable home for every person is better for everyone. Let’s keep making quality spaces

I’d really like to see basic text formatting options for Mastodon. At least italics. I’m on the fence about bold. What do you think about this?

Thanks for the patience as I handle incoming notifications. (Life being pretty hectic here in the U.S.)
I look forward to following more of you!
