Other than whatever Trump is saying now, this is one of the most annoying lies today:

"Reply STOP to opt out."

Does this make Zacharia a licensed "plumber" as well as a "lawyer"?

Here is our new journal article "Global hotspots and trends of ecological water scarcity in river basins" in Oxford's National Science Review.

In the 2000s, 412 watersheds experienced ecological #water scarcity and affected areas are expanding.

The SS United States is set to be sunk of the coast of Florida in the largest metaphor in today's news.

In mid-September 2026, NASA and the National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) reported Antarctic sea ice reached its annual maximum extent -- the third-lowest maximum on record -- as global warming from #climate change continues to reduce polar ice.

Did you know the British destroyed the only steam water pump in America during the Revolutionary War, or that the LA aqueduct was often bombed by farmers angry that Los Angeles was stealing their water?

Did you know the ancient Chinese used flooding as a weapon of war, or that the Dutch adopted this strategy to defend Holland in the 1500s, or that Machiavelli and Leonardo conspired to steal a river?

Space water!
At the heart of the Milky Way, the supermassive black hole (Sagittarius A*) produces intense radiation, powerful winds, & gravitational stress, yet using the #JamesWebb telescope astronomers found clear signatures of #water in the vicinity of the nearby giant star IRS 3. https://www.sci.news/astronomy/water-dust-star-milky-ways-central-black-hole-14993.html

Here is the actual paper, for those sufficiently interested in the science!

Hernández-Bernal, J., Määttänen, A., Spiga, A., & Forget, F. (2026). Homogeneous ice nucleation from water vapour suggested by elongated clouds on Mars. Nature Geoscience. https://doi.org/10.1038/s41561-026-02089-9

My name is Ozymandias.
Look upon my Gmail inbox ye mighty and despair.
No thing beside remains.
Round the decay of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

Check out this amazing story (to me, anyway) of a 1000-mile-long cloud that consistently forms and disappears on #Mars.
As a climate and water scientist, this fascinates me.

The rise in dengue in the US was predicted a quarter century ago by #climate scientists in the first US National Climate Assessment.

This article doesn't mention climate change.

Good. But you don't get credit for not doing something you should never have even have considered in the first place.

Vote like it may be your last chance to vote.

Classic Trump sleight-of-hand and misdirection.

Xi Jinping & Donald Trump agreed for China to buy 10m tonnes of US #coal in 2027 and 2028.

BUT in 2024, we exported 12m tonnes to China. When Trump put tariffs on China, they stopped buying it and it dropped to zero.

So Trump breaks something and then claims success when he seems to fix it.

And 10m tonnes is about 2% of US coal production, so this is no boost to the dying US coal industry.

So Trump has inadvertently launched a government funded and supported real-time fact checker for his own lies at America.gov.
Any over/under on how long this lasts before he shuts it down completely?
