Is there any music about Autistici/Inventati, recent or not, electronic or not? Happy to pick one track / song and feature it in our podkast.

Prophets of Shortwave, a documentary by Coraline Ada Ehmke - @CoralineAda

https://mirlo.space/coraline-ada-ehmke/release/prophets-of-shortwave-a-documentary
https://bandwagon.fm/6ad6bfec434b8846e3c2ccb2

This work of art and information brings to our attention an invisible but overall present phenomenon: men using radio shortwaves to reach out to hypothetical  congregations. As if appointed by their God, miles away from their physical location, sometimes years beyond their physical lives.

But what brings this album here is the fine and perfectly integrated musical coat, which elevates the selection and sampling of these voices to a higher level of imagination and comprehension. A shortwave atmosphere.

If you listen to podcasts, may I ask you a favor? Can you search for "Electre Selecteh" wherever you find podcasts and let me know if it shows up, please?

I have submitted the Electre Selecteh podkast in a couple of directories (both the English and Spanish versions) but I'm not sure whether that is enough or more is needed.

Your feedback is especially useful if you DON'T find it. You can reply here, publicly or privately. Retoots welcome. Thank you in advance!

01, a single by OiaL - @OiaL (welcome to the Fediverse!)

https://www.subvert.fm/oial/01

Massive sound, epic lyrics, voice(s) filled with emotion and strength, a rich palette of synth sounds, a flexible structure, a wide dynamic range... And then the enigmatic two track titles and that picture in the cover. Triangulate that with your imagination. Plus the cryptic band name, the one sentence description, the two digit single name. More of all this, please!

Clicke Dee Click, an album by Kikhausen - @Kikhausen (welcome to the Fediverse!)

https://mirlo.space/kikhausen/release/clicke-dee-click-
https://bandwagon.fm/6ad35e5dd3a051a1669eb06c

First album by Kikhausen but it takes less than a track and a half to guess that this is not the first music created by the human behind this name. I asked, and indeed. Lukewarm danceable electronica with simple surface and well mixed layers of depth. Probably hidden stories too, behind field recordings from 11 European cities. Proudly open licensed, even sampling @lorenzosmusic@mastodon.social.

Electre Selecteh 2 is looking very good and I'm hoping to finish and publish it by the end of tomorrow Friday.

The Electre Selecteh 1 podkasts in English and Spanish should come a bit later, before the end of the weekend.

Then, there is something video-related brewing... More about that next week.

All this is good! However, I'm a bit concerned about the rhythm of reviews in Electre Selecteh 3. Is there new social electronic music that I'm missing?

Just in case you had missed (as I had) this video which (no spoilers) may or may not be related to Total Club Destruction by @herr_irrtum / @herr_irrtum

About the Electre Selecteh podkast. It is totally coming. I finally dare to say it out loud because yesterday night I recorded the Spanish version of the first episode. It needs some final touches but it's there and it's decent. My first podkast recorded. 😱

If all goes well, I will record the English version tonight (you'll have to deal with my accent and my diminished vocabulary & confidence). I will start self-publishing them on the Electre Selecteh website. I figured out the RSS part (not out of the box for podkasts) and I need to figure out what to do to submit it to directories. Any hints?

Written in Rust, an album by monolalia - @anjune

https://mirlo.space/monolalia/release/written-in-rust

The "explorability" of the single recently reviewed (see above) just got a full expansion with what is monolalia's first album. What a solid piece of electronica work. I hear a character, a thread that goes beyond a simple addition of tracks, and I hear like the sound of experience. It's paused, it's tense, it's dark, it's also smooth, and those human voices. That beauty rust has.

Album cover with a relatively abstract illustration that could resemble the sun setting on some distant mountains, all with brown tones like rust.

Blushed/For friends, a single by Jamira - @Jamira (welcome to the Fediverse!)

https://www.subvert.fm/jamira/blushedfor-friends

My subconscious picked up this music for me. I had listened to these two songs once and I had put them in my Are you on Mastodon? collection on Subvert. Days later I had a brief sound stuck in my head. I tracked it down to "For friends" 0:35-0:36. I listened this single more times and both my conscious and subconscious realized the rich audio palette these beautifully simply structured songs offer.

New Moon! The Electre Selecteh 2 phase ends here.

The Electre Selecte 3 phase goes from now until 9 Nov @ 7:02 am.

Expect a new entry published on Electre Selecte's website in the next few days, including a selection of 17 music projects (2+3+5+7, we are into prime numbers here). If you know electronic music lovers with an email address, please tell them to subscribe.

Also, expect a 1 hour podkast filled with music from these 17 projects. English and Spanish versions! It will take a bit longer, and first I need to publish the E.S. 1 podkast (a first for me).

Very nice and fitting video by @axwax_music aka @axwax for their track in this compilation of @socool 's To The Nines covers.

Just curious, where is this more or less?

Someone has asked me why I do Electre Selecteh. This project is young and this person was the first one actually asking me this question.  🫠

I started replying with a link to https://selecteh.org/about/ but then I realized this was not really it. Then I quickly wrote:

A few bad men want to steal everything from so many millions of people. They are stealing our freedom, our privacy, our intelligence, our critical thinking, our happiness. They even steal music and want to steal musicians' creativity with automatic capitalist 1984 music for power and for profit. Creating and sharing music helps nurture connections, community, smiles, and happiness. So from all the things one could do, I want to help promote those who are being part of the solution, creating good music and sharing it in social, truly social platforms.

That's more like it. 😊

Power, Vol. 1, a single by Hannah Baumstark - @hannahbaumstark_music (welcome to the Fediverse!)

https://www.subvert.fm/hannah-baumstark/power-vol-1

I was quickly scanning Subvert's Discovery page by "Newest", listening to short takes of all kinds of music and hoping to find interesting electronic textures to set aside. I clicked on this cover, three promising seconds, and then... a singing voice made me stop. A human story with human contradictions. A powerful performance about feeling powerless. And luckily an additional garage version to make it here.

Introspective Dance Music for a Lazy Afternoon, an album by Semiosis in the Sun - @semiosisinthesun (welcome to the Fediverse!)

https://www.subvert.fm/semiosis-in-the-sun/introspective-dance-music-for-a-lazy-afternoon

Such a great title and I fell for it! The album starts lazy indeed, and introspective too, with the darkest kicks and snares one can get. A variety of rhythms with Middle Eastern notes, very good, still dark. Spoiler, it will be dark till the end, but double spoiler, the tracks speed up and... am I dancing gabber now? How did this happen? Character.

Hi! This is Electre Selecteh's new Fediverse home. 🪹

If you are still following @electre please follow this account instead. I'm very sorry for the hassle!

Yú Lóng Hùnzá, and album by Rus Turner - https://mastodon.social/@rusturner (welcome to the Fediverse!)

https://www.subvert.fm/rus-turner/yu-long-hunza

This album leaves me with many questions, the easiest of which is what 鱼龙混杂 means. Do the track titles follow a connection? Are Miss Z's skillful narrations "just" a sonic instrument or is there a holistic meaning to search for here? And the fishes? What is out of question is that this album has hooked me at once. Will it hook me / you on repetition?
