An endearing finnish thing:

When someone is struggling, we don't wish them "thoughts and prayers" (tho some religious finns will happily pray for you), but we wish them "powers" (voimia).

And I like to imagine them as the powers of the forest, the wind, the deepest lakes, and forgotten secrets hued into the rock by our ancient kin. The spirits reach to give you their strenght, the veil is thin, the old songs lend you aid.

We wish you powers on these tough times.

In true "you probably have ADHD like everyone else" fashion, I just finished setting up my live environment for tonight so that I don't feel like I'm going to crash and burn.

Why couldn't I have done that a week ago? I really don't know but that's just not how it works for me.

Tonight is gonna be fun! I've been playing with my various live electronics setups for a few years now, but this will be the first time I've ever done an IRL solo show of electronic music.

Thanks @Circuits_in_the_Woods!

I am dying :blobcat_cwy:

(The answer to both questions is: not this week, bitches.)

Will I ever play live often enough that I'll feel like I'm not going to crash and burn?

Will I ever play live using the same setup twice?

The answers to those questions may very well be related. 🙄

I guess I'll go play some improvised electronic music in the basement for 45 minutes. That will help.

Just deleted a stupid toot with a content warning labelled "tiny #uspol freakout".

Almost deleted this toot too, but then I thought there might be someone who would appreciate knowing that other people are kinda freaking out and not knowing what to do with that energy.

Gonna put all my synths in a circle on the floor and make music like they do in those ableton ads, then end up with a spinal injury

Trying to become famous, at any cost and for any reason, is a sign of mental illness.

I don't know who this is quoting, but I'ma quote it too. Quoot it too. Quootootooot.

Er...Kid Rock sucks.

I've noticed that my home feed is looking bare here, so I think it is time for a re #introduction of sorts (even though I've been here forever)

I think I know where they're coming from, but this may not be the best message to put on your car.

Perspective.

I double-checked, and this is 100% accurate for the US. In 1988, Ronald Reagan signed the Women's Business Ownership Act, which required banks in every state to allow women to apply for business loans by themselves.

I know progress feels slow, and it is, but this just wasn't that long ago. I'm an elder millennial, and my mom talks about not being able to apply for credit, etc. without my dad in the early 70s.

I'll be playing as nightmother at one of the venues (Wonky Press) at 7pm on Saturday. If you happen to be near Bratt, come say hi and listen to some improvised electronic goodness at this totally cool and unique festival!

A short blog post that talks about why I've kicked you all out of my office (sorry) and how much that's helping my brain.
