husband is speed-making a cake and i'm wondering if it'll be edible.

i've done maybe half of what i need to do. which i something? and i did this. and it took ages and it's neither perfect nor pretty, but it will hold and that's what matters. (is it? yes it is. i think? :eariz_bun_peek:)

also it took ages.

#VisibleMending

we have, at last and at least for now, achieved long-sleeve weather. which means that the pile of mending i've been avoiding since spring must finally be dealt with (or inroads made anyway).

green rabbit with fried eggs for eyes who lives in the sewing box* is keeping me company ... not sure how far we'll get, but we'll make a start.

*green rabbit's identical twin has lived for many years on my long green upcycled cardigan, but green rabbit themself has never made it past the sewing box, for some reason

this is a baby wallaby (it is not a rabbit) and it is wearing a jumper. there's also a scarf, but it's not cold enough for that yet.

that's all i have to say at this time.

little fox hopes that october is being as kind as possible to you, wherever you are. little fox also hope you can have a wee break today for tea and snacks and a book and a nap :bunhdcomfyhappy:🍂

yesterday, i toggled on the "send me a daily reminder" setting on merlin to see the bird of the day.

today, after i received a notification that read, "hi, birding bestie," i toggled it off again and that's how it will remain for the rest of time.

red-legged partridges! FIVE of them on the barn roof :blobcataww: (we've never even seen one here before)

#BirdCallOut

cat on the windowsill
while i stand at the window
watching the moon and antares
move across a darkening sky

from the kitchen behind me
the noise of a pan
a soft light blinks on
out in the distance

this is enough.

you may photograph me (if you must), and then i may go back to sleep. this is How Things Work, is it not?

i've reached the point in the evening / my sanity where i'm photographing the plate shadow of my food on a spoon because it looks like a creacher.

mood

monday.
winter spirit friend knows, but it also knows that you can do it. and it sends you strength and tea (and geese, just in case).

i came downstairs to find husband sitting on the sofa with one leg folded up and the other draped over the side, so i congratulated him on his newfound bisexuality.

husband does not and has never participated in Online; you can perhaps imagine his confusion.

#SilentSunday

even with all the rest (and there is so much all the rest), there are still flowers, and flowers are still beautiful.

please have some flowers. and keep fighting.

so remember that poll i did yesterday about mailing the haematologist? thank you to everyone who replied. just wait till you read the ultimate result! 🫠

i mailed her, said that i was wondering if she would still want to see me given that i already knew i couldn't take the standard treatments, etc., and that i didn't want to waste her time and was trying to check if the journey was worth it.

she replied to say that if i couldn't take the standard treatments, then i might not have the disease. the disease of which she'd never heard when my GP contacted her. the disease the diagnosis of which was in part confirmed BECAUSE i react to so many meds. :blobcatinnocent:

she then said that either way, if i can't take the meds, she can't help me and that she'd cancel the appointment. end of mail.

(i can't take the standard treatments either due to bad reactions or contraindications. for the sake of brevity, i didn't specify this, but maybe i should've. not like it would've made any difference: clearly all she does is hand out a standard complement of meds. which i can't take.)

i am crying and shaking and so upset and angry and i have no idea what to do. husband says it's just as well i mailed, because she sounds entirely dim and fucking useless. he's right, but equally, what tf now??

so, yeah. glad i mailed, i guess. not glad to be stuck here with no help and constantly, scarily worsening health.

:goose_honk:

it sleeps. with, i have just noticed, a bit of cardboard scratch mat stuck in the chest floof :bunhdlurkaww:

gentle, quiet beauty. not as showy as when the flowers were purple, but full of wonder all the same.

please spare a thought, if you have one to spare, for poor husband. he's working all the hours and more to meet a deadline and still having to do the things that i can't and is so tired and stressed :bunhdsad:

because everything feels way too harsh, a bit of softness this monday. may you all find some somewhere, somehow.
