Heterodox - “contrary to or different from an acknowledged standard, a traditional form, or an established religion”
This doesn’t on the face of it sound bad necessarily, but I can imagine some people using this as an excuse to be contrarian or purposely reject conventional wisdom. Which indeed sounds irritating.
