if you ever come across someone who refers to themselves as a "free thinker" or "heterodox", it's time to buckle in and get ready to interact with the most boring motherfucker you've ever met

Truth.
Also, I tried to think of a counterexample and my brain immediately spammed itself with the phrase "rational free market".
@healyn Specifically, boring in the way that Rush's biggest fans are, or anyone who thinks Ayn Rand is cool.
@healyn eclectic
Heterodox - “contrary to or different from an acknowledged standard, a traditional form, or an established religion”
This doesn’t on the face of it sound bad necessarily, but I can imagine some people using this as an excuse to be contrarian or purposely reject conventional wisdom. Which indeed sounds irritating.
@alexanderdyas @healyn I think self described is the warning flag
@healyn better yet just don't interact since "heterodox" is intrinsically trans exclusionary. instead walk the other way and then nuke from orbit. it's the only way to be sure.
@healyn Or a closet Nazi.
@JTinMI yea, that too
@healyn get this: pee thinker
@healyn "you're telling me you dox people just for being hetero?"
@healyn actual free thinkers don't tell me they are a "free thinker"
they just tell me what they think
@healyn@normal.style heterodox is when a straight person posts a picture of my house
@healyn And wrongheaded
@healyn "Storyteller. Dreamer. Troublemaker."
From an actual dude's LinkedIn. Dude was an engineer working at a major municipal airport. I'm pretty sure he did no real work at work.
