Alan Shimel argues that the current wave of tech is not even at the end of the beginning yet. Think the artificial intelligence boom has already peaked? Consider how long it took the internet to evolve from DARPA labs into everyday life. Watch this clip from Utilizing AI to see why AI is still in its rawest infancy and requires decades of practical iteration.

Another clue…

Guess where I am!

Reaching for the most overpowered AI model is expensive overkill.

Alan Shimel compares frontier models to driving a luxury Rolls-Royce SUV when an everyday commuter car would do. He breaks down why the future of AI is about smart tool discipline and matching the model footprint to the specific problem instead of defaulting to giant engines.

A small win is never enough.

Russia was allowed to take Crimea so they invaded the rest of Ukraine. Israel took Gaza so now the settlers are going after the West Bank. People try to bargain with Trump every day and he just comes back for more.

We should never let a bully claim even a small victory.

Platform giants like Apple, Microsoft, and Google have the winning advantage by running invisible, practical intelligence in the background instead of forcing users to make endless model decisions. Stephen Foskett explains why users want models to execute reliably and stay cheap rather than micromanage, benchmark, and babysit overly complex tools that failed to deliver simple utility.

So that's nice so many registered voters get that Trump is planning to disavow the elections.

The question is, pardon my fucking French:
WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO ABOUT IT? 🤬

It would seem

a) some sort of general strike
b) rabble-rousing street protests
c) democracy supporters in front of the Capitol on Jan 3rd
d) all of the above

will be necessary to counter whatever he and his minions have in store for the Republic.

Anybody with me? Make some noise!!

Blindly trusting AI tools creates the danger of becoming a reverse centaur.

Recorded at AI Field Day 9, Stephen Foskett joins industry veterans Dave Graham, Dave Nicholson, Jim Czuprynski, Ray Lucchesi, Claudia de Luna, and Thomas LaRock on Utilizing AI to discuss career advice for entering the workforce amid AI disruption.

The panel explains why curiosity beats hyper-specialization and why foundational engineering principles remain irreplaceable.
