    Search is dead – long live search!
    Day 2 of started with a keynote by @grani from Uni Passau titled „From an Open Web Index to Agentic Information Access“

    He predicts that the search ecosystem will change in various ways:

    - There will be human-agent collaboration
    - Agents will generate new knowledge between each other
    - Small models might be able to compete with bigger ones

    The challenges:
    - Opitimizing search for agents, not humans
    - Building trust
    - Security must come first

    As part of the keynote the current status of the OWI OpenWebIndex.eu was introduced including the new search API OURRS ourrs.eu/ and the Open Agentic Relay System YOARS, which operates as a chat system between humans and agents that execute different intentions. It is scheduled for public release by Uni Passau later this year. 🙌

    @osf @grani

    Please tell me how this is supposed to come about: »Agents will generate new knowledge between each other«.

    Please tell me how this can be good for us: » Opitimizing search for agents, not humans« — or why the one LLM selling point (using natural language as input) suddenly doesn't work. Or is it just that the »optimizing« here is just akin to page rank hacking?

    Hello Svante, we will specify more in our follow-up report in the coming two weeks. These posts are just outtakes with some statements from the presentations that lack the full context. We are aware of that. We will post a link to the follow up report here on our account shortly. Thanks for your interest and your valid questions. Stay with us! 🙏
