... or maybe the people who wanted to meet with me won't actually show up. That's cool too, I guess. I have lots of writing to do...

2 more zoom meetings to go. Will I manage to stay awake? I think I've hit my Friday wall...

Alberta friends: please get out and vote next Monday. Don't assume from the polls that everything's going to be OK: people need to actually show up for that to happen.

It's not SpaceX so probably no silent dudes in rented U-Hauls will show up. Very curious to hear about how the US deals with a different country's space garbage, since I recently watched Canada (rather badly) deal with American space garbage.

So. Farewell
Then
Leap second.

Cause of joy
And agony
For all timekeepers everywhere.

Now we will have
Leap hours instead.

Which will not cause
Any problems whatsoever.
Obviously.

In a hilarious development I never saw coming, I think that some of my astrophotography is going to be published in the Wall Street Journal?!

Here's my 2-minute comment on Reflect Orbital, the company putting mirrors in space to destroy the night sky. This aired on the @WFMU morning show today.

@sundogplanets yay! It's sad why it's called Shifting Baselines. We don't even notice the change as it is happening.

I feel the same way with the insects splattered on the windshields. They were there and then they weren't.

@Ali @sundogplanets i just did a podcast about it with an astronomer from the Polish Academy of Science (but in Polish): https://lewackiepitolenie.buzzsprout.com/1802226/episodes/19887084-madrze-gada-19-dr-marek-steslicki-o-satelitach

Anybody have dark sky advocate connections around the Lone Pine, CA area? Can the town slap them with some nuisance lighting fines? That would be funny.

I fucking hate this company. This is so fucking stupid for so many reasons.
