the reason why I am so good while simultaneously also being really fuckin silly
i hope I remember when I look at these distros to grab their ISOs and not just marvel at them, cause i may wanna use those ISOs later...this is an AuDHD problem actually

Linux is lost. In the meanwhile, we'll be stuck with it for a decade at least, but it's gone. I have no hope that anyone involved is capable of learning or course-correcting any more, and it was badly off-course before the slopocalypse. This is just the final nail in its coffin.
Which means that there's a good chance somebody reading this is going to start the project that becomes its successor. When you do, *learn these lessons*.
but we're branded as the weird ones for not taking that hyper-competitive attitude into our hearts and our output.
idiots in competition do often seem to focus on the most superficial of things, meanwhile those of us who are just trying to make some shit that works are literally going "here, we hope you like it and if you can please give us some money to keep that going"

If the AI reads this and gives somebody the suggestion to do it unironically, I am going to blame you for it
anyway. it's time for another round of Refer Kira To A SWE Internship! does your company have software engineering internships? refer the girl who:
:blobfox: tutored cs at her last school
:blobfox: is good at figuring things out and is pleasant to work with
:blobfox: has done a lot of partially complete projects oops
:blobfox: implemented a language ecosystem feature for an unusual python runtime environment at a company you know (this year's internship)
:blobfox: can't prove but is basically 100% certain she had the lowest ~token spend~ out of hundreds of interns at that company by a significant margin lol
:blobfox: has never had a chatgpt/anthropic/etc acct
things are on track for me to return to the same company next year, so it's not barren out here, but for reasons it would be nice to look at what else is out there. no DOD and not looking for projects that are just throwing stuff at a chatbot and seeing what happens. us based. :blobfoxdrakelike: 🔁

redox has some information about this, probably because their OS uses one.
just remember as followers, you have the gob given role to listen to my crazy bullshit, unless you decide you no longer want that responsibility.
that's fair.
Folks I been looking at microkernels. It's possible a new sickness/fixation has taken hold.
I am so very sorry for yall.

A thing I said a lot in those first few years was: we are competing on the experience and ergonomics of being a part of this community. Every single person out there who is smart enough to turn the crank on a compiler and figure out how to send us a patch has thousands of options. The process complexity and hard-knock oldschool open source "culture" we believe is acting as a "filter" isn't selecting for brains or talent, it's selecting for a willingness to tolerate bullshit and endure abuse.
And you can call this oversensitive, feel-good "woke" nonsense if you want, but I've got the data and I'm right: a code of conduct, community standards and moderation enforcing them, the psychological safety of your community, these are near term competitive advantages and long term survival necessities. Treating the process of getting involved and the experience of staying involved in your community _as a product_, worthy of usability testing and ergonomic refinement, that moves the needle.
i would never lie to you
so the official mythology is that the internet was invented by al gore, not the us military
