So I'm curious. If you're blind, low vision, or neurodivergent, how are you using AI to learn right now? What's working, and what's still broken?
And if you build or teach online courses, what's stopping you from making them accessible?
The bigger accessibility point: I shouldn't have to build my own tools to take a course. With code as real text, described diagrams, and accessible labs, AI becomes a helper instead of a workaround.
AI can close real gaps for disabled learners, but only if it works well in the modes we depend on. For me that's voice. I'd love to see Claude voice mode treated like text mode: same conversation, same memory, no cutoff after 30 minutes.
I've been working on the PyTorch Professional Certificate from DeepLearning.AI, and Claude has been an amazing teaching assistant.
I'm blind and have learning disabilities. Online courses still put key information where screen readers can't reach it: code on slides, diagrams in videos, and labs that assume you can see the screen.
So I built a bridge on my server that connects Claude to my Chrome tab. It describes the video, pauses for important diagrams, and tells me what's on screen.
AI agents leave behind more than useful work. NatashaTheRobot wrote about stale memory and context bloat, and it hit home: I found 600 GB of logs from agent-assisted testing! • Finish processing sooner when you don’t need speaker labels. The new Separate Speakers switch in Settings > Speakers lets you turn off speaker recognition.
• Pick up where you left off. If a phone call or Siri interrupts a recording, it now pauses and shows Resume. The timer continues from where it stopped.

Just released SwiftDocX 1.0.2! This fixes an issue where our Word document reader relied on XML APIs that only work on macOS. Reading .docx files now works on iOS too.
We also fixed spaces getting dropped between words. Thanks to Georges for reporting the iOS issue!

Accessibility isn't one thing. What's accessible for one group isn't always accessible for another. Amazon works great with my screen reader. My screen reader isn't the problem. The CDC says 43% of people with disabilities have more than one. We should always think about what others need.

I have blindness skills. The agent isn't doing my blindness work. I also have ADHD and autism. I forget. I could use other modes of remembering, but the agent works the task with me until it's done. Some days I'm cognitively drained before my to-do list is done. The agent is an extension of me.
After thinking about this a bit more, I want to provide more clarity on my post today. The title got pushback, and here's the longer version. I'm not just blind.
Amazon blocked Meta's Muse from shopping in its store. I'm blind, and my AI agent is how I shop. It reads the listings, compares the options, and tells me what I'm buying before I buy it.
When Amazon blocks my agent, it blocks me. I wrote about what this costs people like me, and what we can do about it.
