2. I am feeling much better today after 2 days of feeling rotten due to my vaccinations. (They were more than worth it, however!)
3. I already got the confirmation that Joule's and my video submission for a rally title passed! Amazingly quick turnaround!
"The Postal Service is implementing broad cost-saving measures that will slow pick-up and delivery times that now cover more than 42% of the contiguous United States.
That puts tens of thousands of unsuspecting mail voters at risk of disenfranchisement if they wait too long to drop their ballot in the mail. The danger is particularly great for rural voters.
...
To help voters find out whether their mail ballots might be affected, Democracy Docket mapped those zip codes."
Senior citizens with Traditional Medicare and a Plan D supplement will see increases in their Plan D costs in 2027. Both the deductible and the out-of-pocket cap will rise about 14% according to a formula written into law. However, premiums will rise unpredictably due to the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services terminating a subsidy that had been part of Biden's Inflation Reduction Act.
For example, I learned today that the monthly premium for my Plan D will quadruple in 2027.
"On July 28, 2026, CMS announced it is ending a temporary program that has been quietly holding down premiums on standalone drug plans since 2025. That program is gone as of January 1, 2027 — and unlike the deductible, nobody yet knows exactly what it will cost you personally."

Grrr, power is out again. Power company said it would be about 3 hours for it to be fixed with over 2700 customers affected. The outage occurred while we were out picking up groceries.
We are forced to eat some of the ice cream we bought.
Joule and I walked the loop around the little park. 😀 🦮 It wasn't pretty (I should have practiced walking with her and the rollator inside before doing it outside), but we did it safely and we got more orderly as we went along. My first time walking a dog since the end of June.
Good morning, Mastodon friends! Joule spent a good part of the night under the bed due to thunderstorms, and when I got up, I discovered that there is a flash flood warning for our area. We are unaffected since we live on a hill and don't have to go anywhere today. One of us needs to check the basement for water, however.
Yesterday I walked the loop around the little park with the walker instead of my husband's rollator. The walker actually was easier. If I can get my husband not to worry too much, I may try to walk the loop with Joule today. I'll take the rollator for that since it provides more stability.
Have a safe, good day, all; never give up; and VOTE EARLY.
