A conversation I overheard at a cafe:
Man 1: "Yeah the physio says I'm still stiff in the back"
Man 2: "I'd be stiff too if she had her hands all over me"
Man 1: "Mate. No."
Man 2 looks ashamed.
Saw a video the other night of a man saying "Hey, kill the vibe. Your friend making gross jokes? Kill the vibe. Call him out"
Chaps! Blokes! Men! CALL HIM OUT.
And, of course, the upshot of this is that I left the group. It was something I enjoyed, but I walked away.
And women do this all the time. We walk away from communities, groups, work, education. We weigh up the options and decide it's just not worth being harassed or considered a "troublemaker" for speaking up.
Many years ago I was on a committee for a community thing. One of the other members of that committee was groping women, sleazing on them etc. The rest of us ran interference to get the younger ones away from him. At the Christmas party, I was out for a smoke and he came out to show me his dick.
I made a complaint to the rest of the committee, we discussed it at length and I was told "[Name] is a good bloke, he does a lot for the group" and "I dunno, I've never seen it".
These two men told me that 1. It's not really a problem and 2. He was a good bloke so there wasn't any point rocking the boat.
So no, not all men, but enough men excuse their mates that it might as well be all men.
"He's a good bloke, he wouldn't"
Except that he did.
Also, just because he never does it around other men doesn't mean he never does.
It sucks to hear your friend is a creeper, I know. But it sucks more to be told it doesn't matter.

I was telling the BFF about Mr Stitch and his mad skillz at getting comfy today.
This is Mr Stitch, on the family heirloom chair and he put that pillow on it himself. I watched him with my own eyes.
He got up on the chair. Paused. Jumped down and raided the window seat for a pillow which he plopped on the chair and from that moment on it was HIS chair and HIS pillow.
He was very good at interior design.
I am possibly over tired because I cannot stop laughing.
