Losing my mind over the official 2026 class photo of the Swiss Federal Council including the conditions of its own production.

Formal group portrait of eight Swiss officials in suits and formal clothes, posing around tan armchairs in an ornate salon with gold-patterned walls, elaborate ceiling mouldings, huge curtained windows and a crystal chandelier. The production of the portrait is visible around its edges: in the large mirror behind the group, two crew members manipulate a bright octagonal light box, including one standing atop a stepladder. Another crew member is partly hidden behind a curtain to the left of the image. Through an open doorway on the right, a seated operator faces a computer monitor displaying the same group portrait. The polished official image deliberately contains much of the apparatus and labour involved in making it.
