Just had FTTP installed as BT wouldn't renew my current contract again. I think they're just trying to force everyone onto full fibre, but anyway.
This now means I have a permanently switched on thingy instead of the phone socket, and the router is plugged into that.

A question, if anyone feels moved to help: the Openreach chap says that must never be turned off, otherwise it'll show as a fault and they'll automatically despatch someone to investigate. If it's my fault because I turned the power off, I'll be charged for the call out.
I'll sure it doesn't draw much power, but I'm a bit unhappy about a provider telling me what I may or may not leave powered up if I'm away for a few days.
I've been used to turning the router off if I'm on holiday, why not the box on the wall?
