A team I'm part of is in need of software that helps farmers track complex processes on their farm. This software is being built with EU grants.
It's a shared desire to make it open source, but which license is best is still unclear. I'm asked to make suggestions, which I can reasonably expect to be followed. My earlier experience here is poisoned by venture capitalists, so I need to reset my baseline.
I'm hoping to read expert opinions on which license is most fitting and why in this particular context.
If you could pick a license for a public good tool made available for farmers, what would it be?

My little affair with @Mojeek is already over because of this:
I searched for 'vakantie regio midden' and instead of being directed to the official govt website listing the holiday dates for this year, Mojeek happily sent me to some random site from 2023 listing the wrong dates and almost sending me into panic mode because I'd booked some things on different assumptions.
That kind of trivial but high impact failing is too much of a shock to my system.

I meet so many people in my day job that simply refuse to believe that this bubble is worse than .com multiplied by the housing bubble.
And it is this collective disbelief/denial, that makes it even worse.
Can you imagine anything but a crash when the people paying for this shit find out it is used to turn pdf's into powerpoints that are then summarized by the same shitty tool because nobody can be bothered to read them? Neither can I.

This has been on my mind a lot. I don't believe there's a dark secret class running society. It's just that humans are naturally bad at dealing with inequalities due to capitalism .

The best design follows from function. There's usually a beautiful way of doing something, and design is to make that way easier than the less beautiful ways.
In the garden, when we try to make things beautiful fast, we usually end up having to work hard against weeds.
But if we work less, and aim for ground cover, mulch production, habitat, and polinators, we can end up with the most beautiful flowery jungle in just a few years.
This is why I don't do onsite meetings anymore.
Met a promotor, her PhD student, and some other folks. During the breaks, her eyes kept wandering to the same spot on my shirt, slightly below shoulder.
99% of guys wouldn't even notice and most who would, would just think: yes, I have a good shirt/arm, have a look.
Not me, nooo. I got so freaked out I actually changed shirts (I have identical shirts with me of course). Then the looking stopped 🙀

As dire as that is, in no way did the expert ever say we're facing "absolute extinction". They used those words in two different sentences.

Context:
In agroforestry systems we often intervene to reduce growth of less helpful trees in the system. I prefer to do this with as little harm (compaction, noise, felling damage) as possible. Some saprophytic mushrooms like leatiporus, pleurotus are really good at this, while producing food from low edibility rated trees like Robinia along the way.
