You can just stop caring about the border. It doesn't fucking matter. Let people come here if they want. Make them citizens. Let them vote. It's a fake issue. If someone brings it up, you say, "Fuck you, you fucking racist." It's nothing but a seed for fascism.
These are stuck. I’ve manually deleted them from the database but they come back after a few days.
Is there some sort of timeout setting I can use?
This is not a subtweet. I promise it’s not. It’s just something that occurred to me as a really useful analogy for so many situations, so I’m sharing it:
Yelling at the tsunami alarm to shut up won’t stop you drowning. Get off the fucking beach.
I spotted that “citalopram chiq” was in while shopping in a Lisboa mall a couple of weeks ago. Not a single thing that wasn’t “I need SSRIs because INGSOC runs the world now”
And here’s Next getting in on the act.
So sometimes it’s clear that my serum amphetamine baseline can start to get away from me. 3 days ago it was clear I’d fallen off the wrong side of the curve because the ADHD had got squashed so hard that I went very very very autistic. Like struggling to communicate with people at all autistic. It was very distressing.
So two days ago I let it wash out and took my regular Elvanse dose at 4pm, electing to not take the Amfexa booster at all. This equates to about a 40% dose reduction in daily dextro amphetamine intake.
Yesterday, on returning to the normal dose my Elvanse felt … somewhat ineffective but after I took the booster I was really feeling it.
Today about an hour after taking my Elvanse (Elvanse is Lisdexamphetamine which converts to amphetamine in the blood. It gives it a delayed release profile), at the point at which it hit, I started giggling uncontrollably. This lasted a couple of minutes.
And then my head is clear as a bell.
Back in the room, I guess.
Been a while with iOS 27 now. Supposedly the great bug fix release.
If possible it’s buggier than 26. Some keyboard stuff has been fixed but there are new bugs that weren’t there before.
Apple has forgotten how to write software.
No, pip; I am pretty sure I do not need to create a virtual environment INSIDE A SODDING DOCKER CONTAINER.
STFU with your bullshit.
What a lovely view.
Backdrop is quite nice too.
(If you know, you know)
Hear me out here: what if you added l-lysine dimesylate to the amino group on pseudoephedrine?
You could call it Vyfed and spin some bullshit about how it doing nothing for an hour and depleting your protein reserves is good actually.
Right. Patent office. I am very smart.
I see Apple have made a 3000 euro phone that you can’t protect against being dropped.
I’ll pass
Oh. I like how nobody is asking the obvious question.
About Bernard.
I expect they’ll get to that.
They changed the Silo 17 thing around a bit. I get why. In the books you were kinda left to work out the precise details of what actually happened out there right at the start. It was very heavily implied but never spelled out.
And I saw some people who read it and then completely missed the central point of WHY they were down there.
I suspect they’re gonna lay it on a bit more thickly here. Perhaps Troy will do some helpful exposition?
Assuming he works it out for himself. I assume he knows how the people sent out to clean die. No reason he wouldn’t.
So, Silo! What a ride that season was.
Mostly called it. Got to the same place as Shift but via a different route. I assumed it was Troy on shift previously when it wasn't.
In Shift, the precipitating event from Victor was done by Thurman Jr, after discovering the REDACTED.
And I thought that would take the pez dispenser to do what we saw in the last seconds.
S4 is obviously gonna depart a bit from Dust, but it feels like a lot of the changes worked really well for TV. Shift the book works because you can't see Troy's face so cutting between Silo 1 and the 21st century works, even though it gets obvious really quickly.
"Forward vault". OK, I suspect I know what's going on there but I don't know why they made that change because it gave Engineering a reason to exist in the books. Maybe they figured having the drill in situ like that would make better telly. I dunno.
Genuinely cannot wait for S4. I like how they made the antagonist a trillionaire Musk-type because I am going to enjoy watching him get what's coming. It also fits with the zeitgeist nicely. The entire World Order Operation Fifty (W.O.O.L. - geddit?) scheme is the sort of utterly insane shit these oligarch pricks would come up with.
Temperance movement: We want to reduce alcohol consumption!
Me: I went from 3 bottles of wine a week to nothing with no relapses after 18 months and no desire to relapse.
Temperance movement: Holy shit! Amazing! Please share how you did it!
Me: You’re gonna really hate this bit …
