10 years ago today, I chose life. Checked in at a hospital after having made an attempt on my own life the week prior. I was lucky to have the insurance I needed to find the doctors who would help me, and the kinds of people around me who wanted me to continue to live.
My ability to choose life in that moment was a privilege.
