OPEN LETTER: #SallyRooney is a writer, not a #terrorist. Her books must be available to the public. Their withdrawal from sale, on the basis of ill-conceived & draconian anti terror legislation, is an affront to basic principles of free speech and expression so long taken for granted in this country. We categorically reject censorship - whether direct or indirect - & urge the government to change course, amending legislation which has led us to this repressive absurdity.

But somehow "stop killing children" is controversial.

Israel 🇮🇱 shows the world who it is.

Again.

They demand that this has a right to exist.

"British government, insane. Sally Rooney, fully sensible", says writer Colm Tóibín to RTÉ News At One.

Publisher #Faber has confirmed it will stop supplying #SallyRooney's books in the UK, but says copies already held by retailers will not be removed from sale.

The publisher clarified the position to #RTE after announcing that UK legislation meant it could no longer pass on earnings from sales to the Irish author because of her support for banned group #PalestineAction.

O Noes! There's been a tweet! 🙄

Woman writer with no role in government thinks its wrong for a writer to be banned from selling sexy novels 'cos she also opposes #genocide! 🙄

How will Brits sleep at night knowing that a writer opposes book bans?

#RTE's Legal Correspondent Órla O'Donnell adds more detail to the reports of the order for imprisonment of #transphobia extremist ex-teacher #EnochBurke.

#WilsonsHospital school has security guards costing over €1,000 per week. In September, Burke had been staying outside the school gates. Then he began sneaking in during the guard's break, and repeatedly entered the buildings.

The religious extremist #BurkeFamily is trying to exhaust the school's resources. 😡

Child Psychotherapist Forced to Close Practice After Holding Sign at Peaceful Protest

Alex Payne, a #UKCP-registered integrative child psychotherapist, had her professional indemnity insurance cancelled following her arrests at two protests opposing the genocide in #Gaza and the ban on #PalestineAction.

When I got active on Mastodon in 2025, I activated the bridge to #Bluesky.

Now I'm thinking that was a mistake.

1/ the bridge to Bluesky is horribly clunky. It's slow & unpleasant to use.

2/ The culture of Bluesky seems ugly. At least a third of the responses there to my posts are nasty trolls. I've had enough.

So I want to stop my posts going to Bluesky, but still see Bluesky posts that are bridged to Mastodon. How can I do that?

Ten years ago, a Prime Minister's in-depth interview would be with a senior face on serious TV. But in 2026, #Burnham goes to a podcast.

That's how big #TheRestIsPolitics is. Rory & Alistair are v good interviewers, with huge reach.

But it's also caution. The war criminal & soft Tory win not just with Rory's worried-monkey face, but with reliable centrism. #TRIP keeps debate in the centre, with no challenge from left or right. #TheBubble is talking to itself.

My word of the day is #Kakistocracy.

Kakistocracy is a 17th century term for government by the worst, least qualified, or most unscrupulous people. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kakistocracy

I find it particularly apt for the government of the #UnitedKingdom, where the kak excels only in persecuting the virtuous people. A country arresting anti-genocide grannies as "terrorists" is an extreme kakistocracy.

#ukpol #UKpolitics.

Win 7 elections. 30 yrs of slog: 4 yrs as county councillor, 10 yrs as MEP, 14 yrs as MP in the Commons.

As yer party's only MP, work yer socks off for 14 yrs of being everywhere & doing everything. Always calm, well-briefed. Respect all around.

While doing all that, lead yer party for a total of 10 yrs. Wow! 💚

Then go to every TV studio to ostentatiously NOT support the new, Jewish leader while he is monstered for opposing racism. Make veiled threats. 😡

Reputation trashed. 🤮

Prime Ministers come and go. In the UK, they go rapidly

Most people are used to this. A PM is like a DFS sofa sale: don't get too excited, 'cos there will another one very soon.

But if any mere here-today-gone-tomorrow PM ever allowed any adversity o befall #LarryTheCat ...

British media's pile-on of #ZackPolanski recalls #Corbyn's fate. Ruthless, relentless, mendacious, establishment #UKpolitics.

For perspective, see "A Very British Coup", the 1988 TV drama.

#ChrisMullins's novel was middling, but the 3hr TV adaptation was exquisite. Screenwriter Alan Plater & director Mick Jackson & lead #RayMcAnally as socialist PM #HarryPerkins had sharp, taut intensity.👏🏼❤️

#GPEW leader #ZackPolanski is madly unreasonable, clamour the UK's MSM in unison. Like McCready to V, they ask why won't he die?

#Polanski is the wrong sort of Jew. While genocidal #zionists claim victimhood, Polanski opposes apartheid & genocide & ethnic cleansing. He opposes the 1 type of #racism that liberals still champion, & they HATE that.

Will Zack win #HolbornAndStPancras by-election? I dunno.

But he's still in the race. Win or lose, #ZionismIsRacism and Greens are growing.

The Greens #GPEW have PASSED the #ZionismIsRacism motion E02 by 1022 votes to 813! Congratulations! 🇿🇦

Finally, the UK Parliament has an #antiZionist party. ❤️

No comes the hard work of fending off the #hasbara lies that #antiZionism is #Antisemitism.

The barrage will be intense, and the response will need to be well co-ordinated and well resourced. ##FreePalestine

15 years ago, I found conclusive proof that #HumanityIsDoomed.

In the first week of October 2011, i bought me a new pair of wellies. Nothing fancy, just farmers wellies from the mart store. Yes, the default is now green. 🤮

And they came with an instruction manual. Yes, a feckin manual. For feckin wellies. 🙄

It says that after washing the wellies, you should dry them.

It also says that the effectiveness of the non-skip soles depends on the surface you are walking on.

I can't find full text of the #GPEW's Motion E02 "#Zionism is #Racism". The devil may be in the detail of a motion that goes way beyond the headline.

But while the wording may be overambitious, the principle is solid. Theoretical musings on Zion are irrelevant. Zionism has been a practical reality for over a century, and it functions as a settler-colonial ideology of stark, cruel racism.

Motion E02 may be too flawed to pass. But it's time to confront the ideology.
