This argument is just about true for any “but LLMs are useful” scenario that have been presented to me. Equivalent or better results with more sustainable side effects can be had for way less capital and compute invest.
The FOSDEM organising team has rejected a proposal for a DEI room at FOSDEM 2027.
I am proposing the FOSDEM Pledge to make up for it.
Will you take the pledge?
I’d like to take a minute to thank all the volunteer maintainers of FOSS projects and infrastructure. You keep our digital world afloat and you’re not getting the recognition or renumeration you deserve.
I’ve put together a few snacks, please take one of your choosing as a token of my thanks.

Here we go!
> Updating to a release containing the complete state reset patch is the only reliable mitigation. There is no complete generic configuration mitigation as an application, extension or server path may publish stale state or consume it without a predictable log entry.

Do I know an employment lawyer in #Berlin who speaks English and is available for contract review (severance/negotiations, for a friend), on short notice. We’ve already struck out four times.
When I got on my train this morning, I immediately used the online ordering service to get me an Earl Grey (hot). I received some dirty looks when I got it delivered before everyone else even got a chance to order 😉
I’ve now ordered some porridge and when It arrived I got asked if I wanted something else, I decided I’d like another Earl Grey (hot).
And in a move indistinguishable from a magic trick that filled me with pure delight, the person already had brought an Earl Grey 😎

Found a disused NAS with 2x6TB HDDs. Am mad with power now.
