School bus was randomly canceled this morning and now the kid's refusing to go to school. I absolutely despise NYC's school system.

I used to volunteer at (& very, very briefly was an executive director of) a nonprofit whose mission was to help girls & trans youth get into programming.

We were all-in on Apple products. We taught them Swift & used Xcode on MacBooks. The kids made iPhone games.

We gave demos on campus at Apple. Tim Cook shouted out the organization by name on stage.

Apple never gave us a single dollar. Not even an Apple Pencil or iPod touch.

But they spent $25,000,000 to kiss the ass of a wannabe dictator.

Ok ok now I’m paying real close attention to that Mississippi Senate race. Perfect ad.

Scott Colom is running for the...

“‘Pick another protein?’ She done lost her damn mind. I’d rather pick another Senator instead.” 13/10

✨ You always have a choice in Firefox, including whether we use your husk to enhance our AI. More post-mortem controls coming soon.

FYI, Firefox has enabled the "Donate your body to fuel data centers" option to true by default, so if you want to opt-out, make so set this hidden flag to false every browser update.

An awful lot of (verified) ICE activity in Corona and College Point over the past few weeks. Not much in Forest Hills/Rego Park/Kew Gardens.

Recently i “hid” this sticker in one of the bathrooms at work.
I gotta admit, i’m very proud of how fast people noticed and mentioned it.
But even moreso, how fast some of them figured out it was me 😆

me: *walks in the front door*
me: "hey [kids], I'm home."

kids: 🦗🦗🦗

me: "hey it's me, your favorite father!"

14yo: "I prefer the other one."
14yo: "You know, the one that does the mail."

I'm raising a comedian 🙄

I'm pretty bummed that mamdani has done so little for central queens transportation so far. Granted it's been less than a year, but his pothole-filling blitz could've included hardening PBLs. Instead, eric adams (who I fucking hate and still wish an air conditioner would fall on his head) did more for the queens blvd PBL by adding Jersey barriers in some spots. The queensboro bridge bike lane (the one in queens) is still sketchy AF due to construction.

I hope things turn around.

Assuming you're using one of the big ones (eg, ublock origin/lite), also make sure that it's enabled for private browsing. It's an extra step to do that. However, when you're using private browsing because you don't want baby shark in your youtube history or porn in your browser history or whatever, you still want ad blocking enabled.

Always use an ad blocker.

Now that is terrific news to wake up to.

I'll probably do some kind of rust treatment and then a clear coat or something. Not trying to make the bike look new, it should wear its scars with pride. Just don't want the rust to get worse!

Yeah, okay, this is a trap. Exactly as I suspected. https://nonfunctional.substack.com/p/passkeys-are-a-trap-do-not-use-them

Looks like I'll be going shopping for nail polish soon. https://www.reddit.com/r/bikewrench/comments/10ys0if/comment/j80003x/ #BikeTooter
