#GoodNews ! Progress is being made to address the replication crisis 🔥
"NIH is launching a new, agency-wide initiative to elevate replication and reproducibility studies as foundational to the conduct of gold standard science."

I know that's not the year Wunderlich published his paper. I know Wunderlich wasn't a noble. I'm taking literary liberties because there's an art to communication and the issue isn't unique to that example. In fact, this post was prompted by me trying to find the source of something else
Playing telephone with secondary citations is infuriating — made all the worse when you figure out everyone is actually citing an inbred fancy lad from 1876 who used a meager / unrepresentative sample, questionable methodology, and instruments about as accurate as eyeballing it. Then you realize we've spent 150 years misunderstanding something as basic as, oh, I don't know, the typical temperature of a healthy human being
New medical technology can be more easily developed in a veterinary context, while still advancing human health goals. That said, there are paths forward to bring phage therapies to humans, allowing us to better deal with challenging bacterial pathogens.

mRNA therapies are now being developed for veterinary uses, which greatly benefits and accelerates the field. That said, bacteriophages can also be used to deliver vaccines / antigens:
Virus-based therapeutics are incredibly promising. By embracing bacteriophages in veterinary settings, we can limit the development of antibiotic resistance and even treat resistant infections.

Bacteriophages also have excellent potential when it comes to protecting crops, allowing us to continue minimizing labor w/ monocultures

The FDA allows phage therapies for animals and plants, but these biologics are not yet approved in humans
Here's an excerpt from a book written by the founder of transdisciplinary study:

There's further reading you could do, but I think he best captures the idea. You can change languages using the tabs at the top of the page.
The cosmodern age, or synthetic era, DEMANDS transdisciplinarity. We MUST synthesize scientific knowledge across disciplines, or risk societal collapse. Furthermore, this lack of integration of the scientific cannon makes society more vulnerable to charlatans like Dr. Peterson, who sell a false sense of security and assuredness.
Transdisciplinarity is necessary for general AI, is the greatest possible salve for society's critical post-modern malaise, and may decrease conflict across the board.
What's often lost when people talk about "The Singularity" is that, for the overwhelming majority of history, it was possible for an individual to understand the whole of their cultural cannon. That is, it is only in recent times that there WASN'T a "singularity" made up of well-educated elites.
Indeed, what reactionaries like Jordan Peterson are ignorantly failing to bemoan is the death of a transdisciplinary elite. And there IS great value to be found in transdisciplinarity (but not bigotry).
Many cases have already been settled as these companies attempt to establish favorable jurisprudence; rather than lose a case and set a business-model-ending precedent, they pay out settlements with money from their extreme rents. Hopefully the ongoing DOJ probe establishes consumer-protecting precedence.

In the last two years, Arizona residents have seen rents soar by 30%. This is caused by some actors like Greystar having dominant market positions, and even more using price fixing software (Greystar is associated with the development of yieldstar, one of these solutions). Recently, the Arizona Attorney General began to take action:
Across the country, there is ongoing litigation concerning price-fixing algorithms in the real estate market.

These algorithms enable corporations to coordinate prices in a manner which regulators have thus far allowed. Algorithmic governance (the use of algorithms to operate businesses) is the capitalist frontier, permitting the removal of administrators while owners avoid liability & collect greater profits. Price fixing algorithms regulate markets for private benefit
"Fools! They'll never appreciate my work... I'll show them... I'll show you all!"
And we get this 🥺
This is the kind of scientist you find on the website x dot com, as opposed to the "serious professors" you find here. Look where that's got you. My boi's meming on a private island populated by horrors beyond our comprehension while I'm doing my taxes
Why implode in the Mariana trench when you could instead be devoured by freaky ostriches that look kinda like dinos
