I don’t get why it isn’t required to have an automatic front facing camera at low speeds and an obstacle sensor with audible warning.

I have a large pickup truck for towing our travel trailer (you need a large truck to do this safely) and it has a front facing distance warning (meant for parking) and that truck is 10 years old.

We made rear cameras mandatory too, this isn’t rocket science.

The responses to this post (replies, quotes) paint a really bleak picture of a medical system in which providers are pushed to use this software and/or buy into the idea that it is a suitable way to keep up with impossible work loads, and patients in turn are pressured to accept it, lest they get labeled problematic/denied appropriate care.

I wonder if any journalists are looking into this. Would love to see coverage from e.g. @404mediaco

I'd argue that "AI"-based development creates a bigger attack surface on closed source/proprietary software than open source software:

1. It's more likely that internal software development uses LLMs as they're most affordable to companies; leaving them more vulnerable to prompt injection and other types of attacks targeting LLM use.

2. It's more likely that internal commits aren't vetted as much (or even purely vibe-coded) as ones in open source projects.

3. It's more likely that attacks on open source projects are discovered quicker.

Also a reminder that the "Mythos" thing—like all the other doomerist things coming out of "AI" companies—is a marketing stunt to get Anthropic free press coverage.

On the upside the AI industry is working on making sure single computers cost at least $8,000 again.

I think the times when we had one computer that cost $8,000 (in today’s money) may have been better than today when we have 100 computers at home that cost a total of $8,000.
