It's kinda amazing that I'm able to 💩post on 🐘 from a plane at 34,000 ft flying over the Lake of the Ozarks where my family got flooded out 90 years ago. My great grandma (one of the folks who had to relocate to the hills from their farm in the river bottom) was born before the first airplane flight.

There's still a little snow at Forked Meadow from the storm last weekend.

There's a hint of another possible storm next weekend although it might be warmer. Let's see what happens...

There has been at least 1.3" of precipitation in this storm at Forked Meadow so far. There's about three or four inches of snow on the ground at the moment. It's currently 29F which was the overnight low. Today there might be some additional rain and snow showers. After that... nothing is in the forecast for the next few weeks.

I know I've made #debian and #proxmox behave before but I'm coming up empty in my googling of how to get a fresh Debian install to play nice with the browser based terminal specifically for copying and pasting.

I'm only running the terminal in Debian. No gui.

I tried the serial port trick but that didn't work.

I tried the spice tools but that didn't work.

Yes, I can do it in SSH with putty but I also want to be able to copy paste easily in the browser window from the ProxMox browser console.

This is one heck of a storm. It's really coming down hard and the wind is all over the place.

So far no lighting and no power blips.

We had to close most of the windows to keep the rain out which is a rare occasion for us.

Partway done with reconstituting and expanding the home gym. Tomorrow some tools will come that I need to tighten the rig/cage.

I'm setting up a ProxMox Backup Server based on a Dell 3050 i5-6500. The computer itself wasn't too bad ($150 shipped with 16gb ram and a 240gb SSD). I just ordered a 2tb NVME to use as the main backup drive and holy crap they are EXPENSIVE these days.

I could have done much better than the stock market if I bought $10k of these drives a year ago and sold them today.

This is BANANAS.

At least the 2TB external HDD for cold backups wasn't too bad.

I paid less for a 4TB NVME in August than I'm paying for a 2TB now.

I still want to build a NAS to finally move off of several cloud services but how will I ever afford it at this point!?

I was looking at used enterprise SSDs and HDDs today which used to be a great way to build a home NAS but now they're pretty dang expensive, too.
