classes of profile pics I've used:
- selfies or character art (maybe too personal in different ways for many)
- animal photo or abstract art (cryptic and kind of impersonal, distance-making)
- meme pics like terracotta animal (only funny to some and obscure, short lived)
- video game screenshots (satisfying to me but obscure, short lived, a cop-out)
- philosophical statement or symbols (mostly no longer relatable, pretentious) - Aug 22, 2026, 11:09 PM
it's almost like the problem is: what is the right distance?

ok let's go with a new one - it's my own sketch of the structural lines for a character. it's personal, I own it and to some extent it identifies me, but it's also at a certain distance because the structure hints at the exercise, at craft
