Dear AAA devs,
Constant noise, screen-space reflections, ghosting, and clearly visible temporal accumulation aren't, in fact, realistic graphics.

I hate Unreal Engine so much. There are probably 7 idiomatic ways to load a level, and all of them are broken.
Perhaps it's worth noting that even if you opt out of the Twitch AI training thingy, your public broadcasts can still easily be saved by anyone, resold, and used to train anything.
Friendly reminder if you're still using Google that it's (intentionally) so bad now, that other search engines are genuinely competitive on quality. Worth looking around, even if you end up deciding to stay.
I hope that this is really true, in which case, more backlash please.

If I see one more doompost or ragebait video about Unreal Engine 6 "removing Blueprints", just one single post, I swear to the Omnissiah I'm going to press Ctrl+W with slightly more force than usual and get on with my day.
Looking for #Linux server distro recommendations!
* Target hardware is kind of old (DDR3, SATA drives)
* It needs to run a web server and a Windows VM, nothing else. No GPU.
* No systemd.
* Distro size doesn't matter.
* Ignoring the Windows VM part, I want it to be set-and-forget with stable automatic updates for as long as possible, without my involvement, including power cuts.
I'm OK with some manual setup work, but the result needs to be zero maintenance. Thank you for any recommendations.
I just saw the thumbnail of a sewing AI video. Sewing. Are we seriously that far gone?
Around two-thirds of my commits in the past two weeks have been workarounds for Unreal Engine bugs. Perhaps the engine is not that great.
I'm starting to get fed up with the ridiculous character limit on this server. It's 2026, we don't have to pretend that posts are in a VARCHAR.
Does anyone know an instance similar to mine that doesn't have this stupid limit, or convince Mr. Mastodon that we don't need to copy the stupid part of Twitter('s corpse), especially given that ActivityPub itself works just fine with longer messages? I can read them, I'm just blocked from posting them.
I refuse to 1/N anymore, I'll just not post.
Our ID checks care about your privacy:
* Video selfies for facial age estimation never leave a user’s device, they magically teleport straight into leaked data dumps.
* Identity documents submitted to our vendor partners are deleted quickly after they're leaked.
* In most cases, users complete the process once. If your ID is not clear enough, we might ask for a better photo to leak.
* A user’s age verification status cannot be seen by other users without browsing the leaked documents.
Comments are now open on this new #UE5Coro feature, the API is very malleable right now.
So many modern game GUIs are bland. Flat or transparent, basic shapes with text, often with monochrome icons that an intern could knock out cheaply, if not lifted straight from a generic icon library.
I've recently gone through some older titles, and they actually look like games. A sad reminder of what was lost in the name of maximum profit.
Finally, some measurements, and not just marketing and vibes:

If you're getting the __has_feature error in Unreal, just change that line to #elif 0. Takes 3 seconds, works even in Program Files, no need to bother with downgrading to a particular version of MSVC or whatever people usually recommend as the fix.
error CS0103: The name 'nullptr' does not exist in the current context
Sigh... I've done too much C++ again.
