I was in a hacker/maker space earlier and people kept talking about the different Discords associated with these kinds of spaces but also different hobbies (like how to fix old giant RISO printers) and I just got submerged by this intense wave of longing for the IRC era.

Occurred to me that just by virtue of being the kind of person that I am, I am like the "anti-networker": I keep burning all the bridges and destroying all the opportunities. A hustler but in the wrong direction.
There must be some way to positively canalize this destructive aptitude somehow.
Watching the latest Philosophy Tube and super happy I predicted that Sara Ahmed's Complaint would feature but also it reminds me that I have not finished reading Complaint and I really want to why are there so many beautiful books in the world I need more minutes in my day!!!
How June went, writing-wise:

ETA: I need someone to make cuter Mastodon embeds. Why do my Mastodon embeds looks so bad? Also the fact that there is no <blockquote> included in the embed means that if the javascript breaks or the server goes down the quoted text is gone forever and that sucks from an archiving perspective.
So turns out that my cat is going to need some serious surgery. Uhh, ooof, okay, if you've ever wanted to throw a coin to your friendly neighbourhood blogger, this would honestly be a very helpful time to do it:

ETA: A few wonderful people sent some kind donations via Ko-Fi and other services — if you send me a donation that is equivalent or more than 16 CAD, I'm more than happy to gift you a complimentary paid membership to my blog (in EN or FR) for a year, I just need your email, so get in touch!
Does anyone have good readings on the disability framework of autonomy? Basically, what does autonomy look like in a disabled body that has lost or is losing capacity?
I'm not sure I'm wording this correctly, I kind of have a very vague notion about what this is in the first place.
Updated to add: I have created this list on Mille feuilles with some of the suggested readings in book form in the comments. Thank you so much! https://millefeuilles.cloud/list/97/s/disability-justice-autonomy (However it's worth digging into the replies below anyway, several very interesting articles and online ressources have also been shared!)
Cluster headache is continuing today, going strong, I'm just bewildered.
Thinking of making a Montréal webring for blogs and websites of all kind. https://garlic.garden/onionring/ looks so great? Does anyone have any tips?
This was, if memory serves, my first time chronicling a painter's work and process with my camera. I hope I did the process justice, because it was fascinating to watch in person. All the Canadian protestors who turned the antifascist "no kings" protests into "no tyrants" protests because of how there is a king of Canada are so incredibly embarrassing.
If you're doing something interesting today leave your phone at home. Airplane mode does jack shit.
Trying to embrace the fact that I have zero chill. About anything. All me, all the time, zero fucking chill. But in a good way. I think. We shall find out.
Extremely mysteriously, the lesson that (neo)liberalism is always, always, always, always a stepping stone to all-out fascism is never learnt. https://silvan.cloud/@leifur/114675917156273491
The children (laudatory, ie., the hip queers who pay attention to music) were correct. I enjoy Chappell Roan very much.

Literally was told today that because everyone in the business is talking about how they're doing "AI", that means it's not just hype. It can't be hype, because everyone is talking about it.
I feel like I must be crazy.
Quoting from the article:
Michael Geist, the University of Ottawa’s Canada Research Chair in Internet Law, said it was extraordinary to bury these new rules in an affordability measures bill, and to apply them retroactively 25 years to the year 2000.
“Varying privacy rules that place political parties beyond the scope of virtually any privacy law in Canada is enormously problematic given how voracious the parties have been when it comes to collecting the data of Canadians,” he said. “It is possibly the weakest possible conception of rules governing the privacy rights of Canadians when it comes to political parties.”
