Yesterday my son (11) disappeared at the beach with his friends, the wacky flailing arm inflatable tube guy in teen boy form, for an hour. Scared the shit out of me. He should know better, his friends have zero ocean experience and they’re naive. So today I’m getting him up early to go hike up a mountain, which should be reasonably muddy still after a bunch of rain Saturday night. He clearly needs a reminder about Kauai.
