People talk about writing as a tool to organize your thoughts, but I find myself increasingly frustrated at how much I struggle to write versus talk.

I’m writing a blog post right now, and have spent 10 minutes rewriting a paragraph to explain a concept that I could’ve explained to somebody in person, verbally, in about 30 seconds.

I’m at the point where I’m even considering talking into a recorder and then transcribing what I say, as that comes so much more naturally to me.

Celebrating Belgium's win in the only way I, an American, know how: cultural appropriation.

Now that America's out, I'm curious if the excitement around the World Cup will persist.

My experience growing up is that people were vaguely interested in the WC while America was in it, and then stopped watching when they got out.

But people have seemed really invested this World Cup. In Philly at least, every bar and restaurant has been showing the games.

I've several friends who're watching for the first time ever and getting really into it.

I hope the atmosphere remains!

I've been really enjoying the Drystone Diary essay series by @kristiedegaris

She does a great job of explaining what drystone walls are, the craft of it, and the politics of how it's been built and who gets credited for it.

Highly recommend!
