The floors of Alvar #Aalto's #Paimio Sanatorium in SW #Finland, completed in 1933, considered one of the top icons of modernist #architecture, has yellow floors in some areas - to brighten the moods of patients struggling with illness, in this case tuberculosis. Aalto's attention to buildings designed to serve and support human qualities and social togetherness is what sets his modernism apart from so many failings by less capable architects. In 1933, all of this was revolutionary.

JOB CANDIDATE: Hi, I'd like to work at your company

MCDONALD'S MANAGER: Nice. Do you have any line cook experience?

CANDIDATE: Yep I can line cook in hamburger, hamburger plus, hamburger plus plus, and cheeseburger.

MANAGER: Great we would love for you to work at our company.

CANDIDATE: Awesome! I can start Monday...

MANAGER: Please first solve these hamburger riddles.

CANDIDATE: How many of these do I have to answer right to get the job??

MANAGER: All of them.

CANDIDATE: So why are we even moving on after I got one wrong??

MANAGER: Oh we found that it hurts candidate's egos if we send them home early.

CANDIDATE: You know what I'm not even sure I even want this job anymore.

MANAGER: Whoops looks like the position has just been eliminated and replaced with AI anyway.

CANDIDATE: ...

When you forgot to make women part of the design team

Last year, my family moved out of duress. It was made worse by the fact that the movers had no idea what they were doing and destroyed half of our stuff during transport. This year, we're moving again (mostly by choice) and I'm having to go through my many books, most of which were in great condition, but are now bent, have water damage, or have been laquered by our wedding album, which disintegrated in water. I'm very unhappy.

No point to this post other than screaming into the void.
