i've been using Linux for at least thirty years, and i've got a confession to make.

I'm not enjoying it any more. it's just the least bad option.

i'm tired of the software churn; of developers expecting me to do the basic labour to get their product to even install; of the weekly updates (what broke this time? can i find another project that does the same thing?); of the programs that, conversely, just dissapear because they work fine but no–one is updating them; of the spats between developers, the power–plays, the gate-keeping, the refusal to do basic moderation because "we don't do politics"; the projects that fall to entryism; the fucking "Al"; the actual nazis; the insistance that every program be ONLY compatible with the latest version of the library…

but. least bad option.

just seen a post from a perfectly nice (AFAIK) and very smart woman complaining about a guy in meatspace telling her "women want x" when she's literally just told him she wants the opposite.
