if they aren't yet working to change things they aren't going to unless they are made to fear the consequences of their actions, and there's a whole load of money and political pressure going towards making sure dissent within the system is kept in check.

telling our ruling class that continuing their policies is going to kill many of the poorest and most vulnerable people every year is not going to help us cause most of them think that's a good thing and the most of the rest aren't going to throw away their political careers to go against them. pleading with them isn't going to help and they don't fear us.
