RemSound v5.6 is out, the low latency tool that sends audio between PC's. now with IPhone and Android support. IN this latest update, a focus on stronger security.
Updates are now digitally signed, so a fake one can't be installed. The remote volume and mute controls are locked to your password, so only people who share it can use them. And profile passwords are now held to a higher standard meaning if you have a weak password, you'll be asked to change it.
Two extras: you can choose what time of day updates install so they don't interrupt you, and the background service can unmute a machine and set its volume when it starts which is particularly useful as a blind user if your audio gets muted.

What's the deal with the NVDA battery status readout? sometimes it seems to work and sometimes not. sometimes it's just completely silent. I've seen this behavior before but for the life of me I can't work out why it does it. Anyone else have an idea?

So I just tried to create a new Gmail account and was told I need to scan a QR code. I cannot do this on my own as ya know, no eyesight. no other optoin was given. the other day I tried to sign into chrome and had to complete an audio challenge where the audio was so garbled that a sighted person then had to complete a visual challenge for me. That took 4 attempts. Google, what the hell are you playing at and why do you insist on making your services so inaccessible? it's 2026. This is not acceptable.
