I’m sitting on the bench in the field. The sky is blue. The breeze is almost cool. thank goodness for shade. 32C/90 F I hate it. I saw a tiny Acmon blue across the creek along with a tiny native bees that apparently also likes the birds foot trefoil. Heading back inside to cool down.
Given the forecast today, I moved the outdoor orchids to a shadier spot. I will have to do an afternoon check of the bog.

I am sitting on the bench in the field. It’s overcast and 20C/68F. It rained for about 15 seconds. In June. I saw a monarch butterfly this afternoon flitting about the milkweed on the slope. Lord Byron is hoarding balls. Jane is sniffing the dirt. Charlotte has gone somewhere to dig a hole.
At this moment, all pets are snoozing but also on the alert for the possibility of treats, I suspect the goldfish, Blue Jays, Woodpeckers, crows, ravens and various wrens and finches are waiting for their snacks. Elderly Cat, Devil Cat, and Visiting Cat are strategically deployed in napping spots.
Native garden report: The Bluebells and Tidy Tips are in spectacular bloom. This is a great color, texture, and height combo. I suspect the bluebells and poppies will be equally striking when more poppies open. One of the Columbines has a flower. The Yerba buena under the redwood is really happy.
