When I watched Rush in the cinema, just after my egg had cracked, it was a movie about obsession and rivalry and how close to death you're willing to skate to achieve your ambitions.

Thirteen years later (ouch), I found myself watching a different film entirely, about what it's like to love an asshole who'll sooner throw his life away on a racing circuit than settle for second place and a future with you.

Transition is about so much more than the physical.

Important thread on the #amnesty report that #jkrowling censored. I don't blame Amnesty at all - the unlimited number of lawsuits JKR offered to fund would have ended them. This is another example of her using the political power that her money gives her to destroy other people's rights, in this case Amnesty's right to freedom of speech.

I get that expressions of misandry are largely satirical, or at least hyperbolic, but I think talking like men are all trash contributes a lot to transmascs staying closeted, not figuring out our genders, and feeling generally alienated within the queer community.

This also goes back to why people who think an LLM "generating content" are missing the point.

The LLM can't be another person who is telling me a story. When people tell stories they are trying to share something, to take us to a place, or show us something that won't fit in a few sentence. Something bigger.

Pages filled with text are one way to do that, but the pages aren't THE POINT. It's just how the author decided to share their story.

With the LLM there is no author.
