My neighbor dropped off an epic amount of fresh sweet corn so I am processing some of it into relish.

We spent a decade being told to hold our nose and vote for a moderate candidate that wasn’t our favorite because it was worse than the alternative and now we’re getting screamed at by these people for having the audacity to want affordable groceries and healthcare.

I wish Lady Edith did not sleep on our bed like a Lovecraftian horror creature.

I think I can maybe plan for the spring. I need to figure out when the weather is going to be amenable and try to get the train availability to work out.

Alright! I made my Portland trip proposal to my husband and he said I can plan it!

I want to take the Empire Builder sleeper train to Portland and stay a few days and take the train home. It’s too late to plan a train trip for this year so I would either plan for next spring or next fall. I have some time to figure out where I want to stay and how to get around. I don’t want to rent a car. I hope I can get around using a bike and public transportation.

I had a bad autistic day today so I spent a bunch of time working on a quilt instead of learning Godot. I did go to my personal training session even though I wasn’t feeling it and I probably didn’t get as much out of it as I could have, but it was something.

On Monday it was too hot to take the pugs to daycare. Yesterday was the only day I had them out of the house and I had to burn it on taking Edith to the vet for her last puppy shots. She’s severely motion sick and I had to spend most of the afternoon helping her recover from her ordeal. So nothing was done yesterday. 😭

My mother in law is a massive MAGA Trump supporter. She only watches Fox News and doesn’t believe anything she’s told that doesn’t come from them. She also has an eating disorder and only eats bagged salads like the ones that are making people violently ill. I am curious how this is going to work out for her.

We have a democratic socialist running for governor of Wisconsin and the people on Reddit are accusing her supporters of being in a cult because we want to elect someone who actually travels around the state meeting people over a guy who dropped out of the race to clear the way for another candidate who committed financial fraud with her campaign finances. 🤪

Does anyone on here have knowledge or advice about visiting Portland? I would like to take a train trip to Portland and basically bike around eating food and just absorbing the atmosphere. I don’t know what time of year would work best for doing this. Thanks!

Living in Wisconsin is wild right now. We have a socialist single mom running for governor against a bunch of establishment politicians who couldn’t accurately do accounting on their donations and keep shooting themselves in the dick trying to get everyone to vote for someone they never heard of because apparently people are not enthusiastic about banning data centers. 😂

This. This was America’s true super power. It was a foundation of the “soft power” we exerted for 100ish years. It created the largest economy in the world.

And then we just forgot. We chose to forget. We chose racism and fear over opportunity and the future.

I’m going through a mental period like I did during my divorce where everything feels hard but there is something at the end of the desert if you just keep going forward.

I know things are terrible right now for everyone and they’re not going to get better in the near term. But we have to push through and fight for a better future when we are in a better place. This isn’t going to last forever. 💜

I had plans for celebrating Bastille Day but I wound up taking my sewing machine to the shop and getting it repaired and my husband requested I bring home Mexican food. Maybe next year. 🥖🍷🧀

We got Edith Anne’s DNA results back and she’s officially a super mutt.

I have been chilling a special bottle of wine for when they officially announced that Mitch McConnell finally kicked off, but I am happy to open it for Lindsey Graham. 🍾

Whelp. Got an update on my husband’s boss and he’s not coming here. He will be in Madison for an hour so my husband is taking him out for pie, but he wants to come back sometime and actually have a long visit. So I have to clean the house again. 😡

We keep taking Edith outside to burn off energy but she just keeps getting more energized. 😭

Lady Edith was sleeping on the same ottoman that Olive used to sleep on. It’s nice to have some of Olive’s energy back in the house.
